What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Good morning for Barlows, found 3 unusual ones at a small local knife show, first is a S&M from 2004 for the Mason Dixon knife club,

Then I found this old straight line Russell,it is handled in oak, not sure if it came from the factory or it was rehandled sometime over the last 100 or so years,

Finally an Empire, been looking for one of these for quite some time,

Charlie, love those old relics, they have the LOOK!

The second picture, the top one stag and spey has to be the best looking barlow I have ever seen, stunning old knife!
