What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Today on the 'Photo Log of Opportunity' I found this wonderfull 'matched pair' of rare "Soup Bone" Barlows and I'm lovin' 'em!!! :tears_of_joy:

Spectacular Charlie! Thank you my friend!!!:thumbup:

Nice photos, Barry!! Those Barlows look almost like a matched set!!

Maybe there will be enough of that Soup Bone accumulated to make another small run of knives. Next year maybe! They are from the last cut, too thin to make full handles, but a few are adequate to make these Soupies!!

I'm glad to hear that Paul is doing better! This has been a rough year with all the Pneumonia I've seen.

Here's a pattern #15 setup knife. Gee! I wonder what this means??:D

I do wish that this version will be easier to open, and with a milder pull. It might even push me away from the #68 jack I'm waiting for

I might spring for a single blade if it is an option, otherwise, I'll have to see finished knives to judge the access to the nail nick on the main. But, if it has TC on a long bolster, I might have to have one anyway.

I can't wait to see these!!!! :congratulatory: Charlie... yer makin' me a Barlow junkie! (and I'm lovin' it)

There once was a time when I would rotate my carry slip joint as the mood struck me. When they first surfaced I got one of the saw cut bone, single spear blade Charlows. There has been no rotation since. A little Blind Horse patch knife on my belt and a Barlow in my pocket has been my modus operandi for some time now. Life is good.

Well...I have to have one or two of these...of course I will probably end up with more...*sigh*....

Charlie, I have been carrying a single blade spear point Charlow, with ebony scales, as my main knife for some time now. I gave it a partial patina after messing about with an orange, but now, after riding in my fat mans pocket, it has gotten some stippling. I think it is time for a potato patina!

These soup bone barlows look great!

I would dedinitely like to see the "Soup Bone" cover added to their regular production.

If Bill had to sort that many Soup Bones, he would have to live on various and numerous medications! He tells me it is not exactly a walk in the park!!

Many agree with you, Rob! (and Dan, and Paul, and and and!) I have carried the first one ever since it arrived last fall.
It pings my heart to hear such things! A Barlow in every pocket is a dream come true!!
