What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

I love the Ancient more than any of my other traditionals. That is why I bought 3. I haven’t taken a picture of them together, but here’s my first one.

I know what you mean. I can’t seem to not carry mine, or at least have it around on a daily basis.

This continues to be my favourite thread. So much to learn and take in here. ... I use a good number of my TC Barlows. But I haven't quite been able to take the leap with either of these good traditional Barlows yet. LP 1 of 8; NN 1 of 17. Best to all. MJ.

Hi Jolipapa, can you put a picture of a "tiré-droit" ? I've never heard this name .

Â
On the TD the blade goes upward (à la London) while on a Tonneau it goes downward. Both often mistaken though normally only one slightly shorter bolster on the TD. But as picture shows, some are twin bolstered.

Hey, it worked!
Does tire droit mean straight pull? If so, I don't know why.
 Exact, the pull being the action of the pencil when you draw a line (tirer un trait).
