What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

I love this eye candy thread

I'd love a small (3" closed) Sheffield Barlow

Do I stand a realistic chance?

HHB at its best (at least IMHO).

Dumb question - where do you guys find all these beautiful English barlows? I've a couple old I*XL and a ES&O, but can't locate any of the modern Wright's, etc. Thanks.

Not a dumb question. The English Barlows that you speak of are either never again SFOs or hunted down. The ones produced by the remaining Sheffield cutlery firms are hit or miss in terms of fit&finish. My thought is to keep hunting.
