What MANLY thing did your (traditional) knife do today?

To redeem a manufacturer's mail-in rebate, I used the sheepsfoot blade of my Camillus Rough-Cut stockman to cut the UPC code out of a cardboard box that some computer parts came in. That's pretty hardcore.

Sat in the recliner and shared thin slices of apple with my 11 month old granddaughter. Used my Case amber bone stockman clip blade.

The simple things sure make life good.

God Bless
Tracy

My carbon steel Western 742 stockman was used as a gift today. I gave it to a friend who was trying to cut some rubber hose with a el cheepo stainless lockback. Had my case 6392 in my other pocket. Felt good[and manly] to be Santa for a day.;)

I used my Dan Burke Barlow to field dress (or "gut" for those of you who are (like me) used to the more common & less PC term) two "extra" deer over the weekend for a kid we invited to hunt with us who somehow forgot his knife. I had walked out to check on the condition of a few tree stands (I already had filled my tags so I wasn't packing my normal gear) and found him excited about his recently won bounty -- yet unable to prep them for the long drag back to the house (1 mile or so). I think the experience opened his eyes to what "a sharp little pocket knife" can really do.

(and yes, I helped him drag them too)

It's still early in the day here, but my Queen #3L (locking Mountan Man) has just finished a manly task.... it has BECOME CONVEX!!! :cool:
Took maybe 4 hours total, over a couple days, on some 220-grit paper, to bring Queen's D2 to a laser-sharp convex edge, but now it's DONE and it is awesome. :D

Pictures?

I'd love to see that one as a convex. I've been contemplating doing the same to one of my Country Cousin soddies in D2.

In my duty as a babysitter today I had to make two PB&J sandwiches. These cannot just be cut in half. They must be precisely separated into four triangles or the natives will not be pleased. Happily, my GEC slim trapper was up to the challenge and said sandwiches were consumed without incident. :)

I went out and put a bale of hay out for the deer. Had to cut the twine off the bale...
Its still snowin perrty good here at the house, and its getting a little harder for the deer to find food

Not just manly but NOBLE:thumbup: We need to help animals&birds in the cold spells.

Used a CASE Large Stockman's Sheepfoot to cut through the sacking around a pallet of firewood I had delivered, I too need helping out in the cold spells -17c yesterday :grumpy:

Good on you WS!:thumbup::thumbup:
Keep takin those young'ens hunting.

Used the sheepsfoot on my Case 6332 stockman to slice the cord wrapped around Christmas trees at a Christmas tree lot to open them up to see which one we liked. I then used the sheepsfoot blade to cut away the netting that they put the tree in after we got it home.

Heck ya. Gotta stay warm

Absolutely. To many kids these days don't get the chance to enjoy the outdoors, and its really sad.

Being the Most Interesting Man In The World, my Case Humpback Whittler just stared at me in awe.

LOL++++ :eek: :D :D Good one.

I am NOT that interesting. So I used my GEC Furtaker to cut the paper

wrapper away from a glass tubed cigar. Nice day for a puff or two ;)

I used my 34OT along with a Silky Saw to trim some trees around the house. Then I used my new Rough Rider sunfish to slice some steak I had grilled on the Lodge Grill so SWMBO could add the steak to a mixture of tomatillo salsa, lime,garlic, radish and several types of onions.
Then my Ulster scout was used for the most manly of knife uses. Opening my Torpedo Pale Ales.

It doesn't really look much different, aside from the lack of a shiny ribbon along the edge. I don't think my crappy cell phone camera could properly capture it for you...
Also, the logo is almost completely gone, from rubbing on the sandpaper.

...nope, can't seem to get a good snapshot. Have to try the wife's camera later on, if she'll show me how to use it. This knife definitely cuts like a laser now, though. :D
