What other folders compare to the Sebenza?

would you touch a sebenza with a lansky sharpener? or do you sharpen with spyderco or edge pro only? how do you think the skirmish compares in fit, finish and steel? even though thyre both S30V?

I maintain the edge with the Lansky sharpmaker.

I don't think the Skirmish is even in the same class as a Sebenza, not even close!! That is comparing apples to bananas.

Don't get me wrong.I did not mean to say that the Skirmish was as good.I was saying that the Skirmish is better than the Bradley that some as is as good.

My Skirmish is excellent, with first rate fit and finish. The dang thing is too big to carry, but that's another problem. ;) Good as it is, however, it's still not quite in the Sebenza's class. Justly so, considering that it costs half as much. If you want an apt comparison, you need to look at custom knives.

is a sebenaz custom or production or somewhere in between maybe....like benchmade gold class

I guess I'd call the Sebenza a "semi custom". Not that it really matters what you call it. It's the quality that counts.

if you could only own one seb and your choice was a plain, graphic or micarta, which would you go for?

Only one? Surely you meant one of each.;)

I would keep an eye out for a used micarta seb at the same or near price as a new plain.

thats the problem, my mate across the pond has one and hes got a damascus blade and s30v to go with it but its got silver lugs and its classic as all inlayeds are. i like the bluelug regular. what do you think about the swedge grinds then? nicer than the usual?

I just wondered if you have looked at the HD emerson line. they are the only knife i ccan think of in the production catagory, unless of course you count striders. But those are a ifferent type of knife all together. The sebbie is a bit more gentlemanly but i would consider the strider and emerson frame locks to be a tad bit stronger. I dont own a sebenza. but i want to eventually. If i were you id look into the strider rc. It is prob my favorite folder. Ill be interested in what you think of it.

To be honest, i dont like striders 1 bit, apart from the fact that theyre knivesand appear well made. im not into camo blades i feel it makes knives look cheap. i like strider from lotr
