What popular knives that you don't understand why

How about this one?

That ain't the short pointy Spydercos I was talking about.

Wow this thread's popular huh.

I'm going to go witt-
•ZT's with a deep recurve (just as example pretty much any other than the 05xx series and the 0801)
•Spyderco Caly line (such good materials and design but with a back lock, the knife could be great with a diffrent lock) & the Delica/endura series
•salt line (love the steel but give us some choice other than FRN/back lock)
•it's not that I don't like BM's in the 3.6-4" range but there are just so many, take an existing design and shrink it down a little more please. We really need a 2.5-2.75" axis lock.

The ZT350.

It's a folding Santoku knife.

I have big folders (BM 710 and 810) but the form follows function. The ZT350 is just too bulky for me

I don't understand how a knife enthusiast can say " I hate all the Spydercos, all the cold steels, all the benchmade etc..."
This brands have made a lot of different knives, with different steels and different geometry and, God bless them, at least one of their knives is surely good!
I hate Medford for example but He hasn't made a lot of knives.
I hate Extrema Ratio because they use only one steel for really different kind of blades and this is impossible in 2014!
I hate Dark ops and you can easily understand why...

I HATE Spyderco, ZT, Strider and Busse!...for making my wallet so much lighter. :D

I have too much love for this "hobby/lifestyle/whatever you want to call it" to hate on any knife maker...buy what you like and pass on what you don't, no big deal. I do respect the OP's question though as its provided some interesting answers.

Yeah I don't hate anything in general, I tend to like some models of most brands and dislike even less models of most. I do pick what I buy pretty carefully though. I just want to be sure to get what I really love for my money.

To each his own. I only dislike certain brands for what I perceive as ethical issues which is my choice. I dislike all "tantos", chisel grinds, recurves, and wharncliffes.

I'm terribly impressed that we haven't had an outburst of extreme butthurt yet. Somebody is bound to lose it sooner or later.

And we all know how much you like butthurt :)

Here's a $28.00 Kershaw Kuro that in stock form lay on the desk until I stripped the black, grooved the scales and is now my current EDC. It's actually a great blade design with angles designed for maximum leverage. The serrations are very sharp and the tanto, even when dull like now will still cut like a box cutter. The chisel tip is centered on the blade axis and is very pointy.

To answer the OPs question. I really have no idea how people can look at any Mantis and find it in any way desirable. The thing takes up your entire pocket and is by far the most aesthetically UNappealing blade I have ever seen in my life. I just don't get why they are still in business.
