What purposes does your knives do for you?

Needler420 you should look into the mighty Cold Steel sjambok for self-defense, I heard it was way better than a knife and can bring a 240 lb machete-wielding attacker to his knees with one firey whip.

Far quicker than a hand gun too.

I use my knives to slay people with incomprehensible grammar.

Actually, I use my knives to do things that knives are supposed to do. Open packages, cut tape, trim loose threads, cut away that weird callus on my left foot below my big toe, etc.

My tactical knife serves many ordinary, day-to-day purposes:

  1. Ninja defense
  2. Mall security patrol
  3. Anti-terrorist activities
  4. Sentry removal
  5. Nuclear bomb diffusing
  6. Shark hunting
  7. General zombie holocaust use
I also carry a gigantic Cold Steel, but that's just for when I get attacked by a side of beef or need to quarter raw chickens on the subway.

I think knives are classified as "improvised weapons".
I use the tools of my profession.

Interestingly war casualty statistics for improvised weapons are a whole lot smaller than accidental and near on par with self inflicted. A whole lot has to be scraped together to get a mention statically at all.
The Generals are woking on the next world war being NBC: Nuclear, Biological and Cutlery.

I rarely ever think of my knives as a weapon, never really. How many times have I used my knife, or carried it, and how many times have I used it as a weapon, never. They are fantastic tools, I get lots of use out of them. My folders get quite a bit of use, but my slimline machete gets a couple solid hours of use each week. I guess they would be helpful as a defensive weapon against an animal, but if I carried something for a weapon purpose, I would carry a gun, or bear mace for an animal. Knives are just tools to me.

So you get attacked by nuclear bomb equipped sharks on a regular basis too?
I thought I was the only one. :D

(I changed it from "diffusing" to "defusing"...unless you meant that you use your knives to chop up nuclear bombs and spread the components over a wide area; that could work too, I guess :))

Sorry...that was an iPad autocorrect.

Need to invest in a tactical iPad to avoid such embarrassment!

It will allow you to master the battlefields of the future, for sure.

In fact, I just checked my mail and my new T-shirts arrived. A "Blues Brothers" movie poster shirt, and a Wyld Stallyns shirt. I used a pocketknife to open the package.

I'm still waiting on my Nexus 6 and my Case Bose teardrop jack in Ebony though...

I have actually been researching cold steel products for these exact reasons.

If you ask me spyderco is very utilitarian with their product line. I mean a whale cutting blade for whale rescue. Benchmade caters to law enforcement and ocd collectors. I think that is why they give you those mini benchmade bags for everyone to use as their safe queen.
Now those guys at cold steel they understand the times.

The first video I watched of coldsteel recon tanto the guy got it for deployment to Afghanistan. Maybe stab someone with it.

I use my knives for menial daily cutting tasks from opening packages or mail to cutting the occasional food .
For me knives are purely tools in a garage or shop sense, like a shovel screwdriver or wrench not a killing or defense tool. I don't carry a tactical knife or weapon because people are ignorant and judgemental, they don't know that my 64lb pit bull who is always with me is the sweetest dog in the world and would only harm a fly 😁.

Pocketknives are only a weapon if you're trained to use them as such. Otherwise, you're an idiot flailing around with something sharp enough to hurt yourself.

I honestly can't tell if this is a serious post/thread or not.

Ha! Classic.......

My knives get used to seperate material from other material like cutting, whittling, scraping, etc.

Now if things go far enough south that I had to put some vent holes in a bad guy, I suppose it would work, but there are far better things for that than my itty bitty 4" EDC.

And what times would those be? Zombies? sword fighting? Chopping pigs in half? Sure. They definitely have their finger on the pulse of world.

I have well over a hundred knives I suppose?,, never really counted them!? ,, it varies from one day to the next!,,, acquire them and some I give to friends!,,, they range in size from very small to fairly large also!,, why you may ask would anyone have so many???,, well I learned at an early age (50+) years ago that chip bags come in all sizes don't you know!,,, the Boy Scouts taught me to always be prepared because you never know when you may encounter an enraged deadly chip bag!!!:D:thumbup:
