mine came in today....# 21............ Blackjack! (black blade too)
I love this beast! i need to walk my dog in a little bit, i may have to clear the trail a bit!!

0056 just showed up today and has found a home in my Maxpedition Sitka.


03/20/09 - 0155 has arrived today and is the identical twim of 0056. One is for the pack the other will be used as a platform for B.O.B. gear

I'd be glad to. I haven't had a chance to break it in yet. It will be a EDC bag and a go-bag for hikes and day trips. The review on the Maxpedition website is what really sold me though. I have been a Camelbak guy for a long time and this is my first Max bag, but I really like what I have seen so far. I will be sure to fill you in once I have some time & miles on it. I have also never tried a sling type (single strap) bag before. The idea of access with out removal is just cool to me.
 
I got my RC-5 this morning. I'm number 202! Can't wait to put it through it's paces. Did anyone else notice theirs smelling odd (like plastic or kind of chemically)?

That smell is the bonding agent used in the micarta.

Stinks to high heaven but the smell goes away over time.
 
76 came just in time for my weekend camping trip. When not being used, this thing will be riding beside me in my truck from now on.
 
Call me odd...but I love the smell. It's kinda like "new car smell" (it doesn't smell good because it smells good but it smells good because it represents something new that you are very fond of). I never really thought of it as handle bonding agent smell. More like minty fresh knife smell. AAAHHHHHHH! :D
 
Got mine #139. Mark over at Gear2survive.com was realy helpful at making shure i had my RC-5 in time for my trip to the appalachian mt. next week.
 
#0109 arrived via CRKS yesterday! Wow what a monster! Hope to have up some pics and such later this week.
 
#0130 in Connecticut, black w/ plain blade. WAY heavier and thicker than I expected, & sharp too. I over did the body shaving test, no hair left on my arms or legs, got a little carried away. What you never saw a hairless German Shepard before? : )
 
just got my RC-5 greenblade and sheat with combo edge my number is 0012

What number did you get up to in the "First Run". Or are you continuously producing and just had a certain number made before you started shipping?


And is there just one of each number--or is there say a #0001 black blade plain edge, #0001 black blade serrated, #0001 green blade etc etc.
