What role for the JUNGLAS?

baldric is a strap looped over one shoulder diagonal to the opposite hip.
sort of like a maxped jumbo, only instead of the murse you have a Junglass banging into your hip. :)

Sorry for getting in on this thread late....

Real simple, the blade was made for the Jungla Special Operations Forces in Colombia. The thing works pretty good chopping coca and Marijuana plants, so it's mainly an anti-narcotics blade. We've got a lot of DEA using them in the states. With all that said, the machete will do just as good for most applications (if not better), but the Junglas is stronger and makes you look cool doing things.

You just sold me on this :D:cool:.

It's great for "Quien es mas macho" contests. Unless the other hombre has a khukuri, that is:cool:.

In all seriousness, I think a big knife is another great tool to have. This is America, buy what you WANT! Then concoct a story so the knife procurement gets fuzzy and confusing to your wife:)! Take care.

I have an M43 khuk that weighs twice as much as my Junglas.
care to guess which one is coming to an exchange thread near you soon?

Great news 1066! Many have been waiting for another Junglas to hit the exchange. Just kidding;). Believe me, if I could justify a Junglas, I'd have one. Big steel is big steel. It's all good and the Junglas is as cool as it gets. I think a khuk will have an edge for chopping, but the Junglas would be a little better all-arounder, I would think. That's why khuks come with a karda:). Though my "karda" is made by ESEE and looks a lot like a 4! If your M-43 weighs 44 ounces, it is a bit large for carrying around. Mine is just under 32 ounces. And at 19" long, it qualifies as a "heavy" in my book. Some are way over built. I'd still keep it though. It's a one handed axe! BTW, anyone else notice Jeff is using a Junglas these days? He must be trying some new marketing ploy. Tell us it's useless, then flash some photos of it strapped to his pack. Hmmmm.... Take care.

Wow, are you homeless? I don't know that I have ever met anyone who has lived full time in the woods for two years. How have you been eating? Hunting and trapping? You should fit in great around these parts.

Hey Jeff, wow, I didn't exactly expect to hear from the Maestro himself. Bladeforums rocks. Anyhow, I don't mean to hate on your knife, I just thought I'd give my two cents on what has worked for me, and I've got way too many blades in the quiver. I haven't used the Junglas but I have used big comparable Busses and such and my opinion stems from that. Yes, I was in the woods the last two years, did a lot of foraging, hunted wild turkey and deer, quail and frogs, and found me some cervezas as well. Can't say I really roughed it too much. I did frequent civilization but spent 99% of my time out in the forest and lived in a kodiak tent. I was just a couple miles from farms and still had encounters with bears, bobcats, and found lion tracks coming damn close to my camp multiple times. My best friend was a hand crank radio. My worst enemies were ticks. It was an amazing experience. I carry an Izula by the way, great knife!!!!
