Being left handed it's a little awkward to open one handed but it's really not a problem. I like it. But I like all my knives.

I realize it’s not a major difference, but outta curiosity, do you prefer one opening hole over the other, and is there a noticeable difference with gloves?

I like the older style just because it feels better to open. But that's just a personal preference. As far as gloves go I don't know. My climate here in Australia is relatively warm and welding gloves are as close as I get to ever needing gloves.
