What SAK are ya totin' today?

Older Super Tinker, with no hole Awl, squared phillips driver, screw pivot scissors and small "v" Victorinox tang stamp...early 70's???

I just got this SwissQlip in the mail and I'm going to spend some time seeing how I like it. It's major flaw is that you need a tool (like the toothpick, for example) to remove the tweezers with this thing installed. Aside from that it seems like a reasonably good design but I'm not sure what I think of it just yet. Fortunately, I can remove it if I don't like it with no damage to the SAK.

I have one Rick and somewhat liked it but like you said, getting to the toothpick was less than ideal, however, if you don't use the toothpick your good. I took mine off a short time later.

This is interesting! I usually don't get along well with pocket clips -- or perhaps I should say with knives clipped onto my pocket -- as they seem to always get in the way of accessing other things in the pocket. This is so unique that I may just have to give this a try though.

I have that same problem but fortunately, my jeans have a little loop on the side just big enough for a SAK. The picture below is how I've been carrying mine lately. This is where I'm using the SwissQlip today.

This SwissQlip does have a few design flaws.

1. It covers up the tweezers requiring you to use another tool to get them out.
2. On my Super Tinker the parcel hook is difficult to access because the little nub at the end sits right next to the clip.
3. The key ring eyelet that the clip attaches to is an integral part of the back spring that the bottle opener rides on. As a result, the eyelet moves a little bit when I open the bottle opener. It doesn't seem to be a problem though. The clip just kind of flexes ever so slightly but it doesn't seem to move from its mounting point.
4. The slot at the top of the clip is narrow. It will slide onto my jeans but I pretty much have to force it.

I ditched the Mountaineer for some sweet knives I got in the mail from a good mate, 315 315
A very Cool Micarta scaled Spartan and a Camillus US army knife. topped off with fire starting toothpick and corkscrew gadgets. Not to be found anywhere near me in central NSW Australia.
Thanks Jim.

Nice pair.

Thanks OHD:thumbsup: Happy New Year!!!

Got a serrated Spartan in my pocket today. Perfect for slicing a tomato at my friend’s place before.

I enjoy the serrated blade a lot
