I haven't posted to this thread in a long time, so . . .

This knife started life as a German Army Knife with olive green scales bearing the Bundeswehr eagle and having no toothpick or tweezers. I wanted it to have the unmistakable SAK look when I carried it on a trip to Italy in case it came under scrutiny of security guards, customs inspectors, or nosy folks, so I replaced the green GAK scales with the classic red. These scales are as recognizable as the McDonald's arches and also provided pre-cut slots for the little tools (the green scales have the tracks for the tools, but are not cut open at the ends for them).

Voilá, a Victorinox Trekker! Great knife no matter the name. If I could customize it, I would. Lots of uses specific to my needs I could add to it if given the chance.

In the glass is my homemade limoncello on ice.

A Brass Cadet II I made for myself using some vintage parts, a small clip blade and a “Victoria” stamped large blade. This was a special project for me as my wife’s name is Victoria so I went to great lengths to find a nice donor knife.

Finally picked up a compact. I received this 1 yesterday, I thought I would probably need to use something like acetone to clean it up from the seller pictures but it was such a bargin. Picked up for just over $30Aud shipped, retail is around $80.
Well anyway 10 minutes with warm soapy water came up a treat, cleaned the inside, honed & oiled it straight in the pocket.
Scissors seemed like they hadnt been used. Don't think blade has ever been sharpened. The only thing it doesn't have is the pen. It is an older model no file on the hook.
Gotta be happy with a bargin  IMG_20210803_103423.jpgIMG_20210803_103403.jpgIMG_20210803_103446.jpg
