Just got back from a 15 day solo canoe trip in northern Saskatchewan. I took exactly two camp tools, the Fieldmaster I carry every day and a Fiskars hatchet. Used the Fieldmaster for absolutely everything, including filleting walleye at least once a day. If you want your fillets coated and de-boned then it wont work, because the blade is too short to take the meat off of the skin. In this kind of backcountry situation I just added salt, ate the meat off the skin, and made the cheeks into a little shish kabob.I couldn't be more proud of my SAK's so I'm always happy to show it off...
Today it's the silver Alox Pioneer - I just LOVE this one. I've been very impressed with it from the day it arrived.
How about you?
