What shoud I sell? What should I keep?

The vet left a message this morning saying my dog has cancer. I expect that's going to mean some big time bills (and maybe a three-legged Rottweiler). And that's going to mean liquidating some assets. And lately, I've been putting all my money into Busses, so I'f I'm going to pay the vet, that's where the money's going to have to come from.

This is not a "for sale" thread. I am not soliciting offers. I am not offering anything for sale at this time.

But I am soliciting advice on what to sell and what to keep. Here are the choices:

-All 4 AKs that they had at the company store
-Ruck Kensei
-War Boar x3 (snakeskin & tan, Red G10 and black, black micarta and black)
-FBM LE
-CG FBM x4 (snakeskin & tan, jungle and mag black/green G10, mag green linen & -green, mag blue/black G10 and gray)
-Ram Warden x3
-Buffalo Warden x2
-Orange Warden x3
-Yellow Warden x2
-Black Micarta, Black GT, PE SMOG, & Fried Fish Wardens (one of each)
-Hell Razor x2 (green with mag black, tan with mag tan)
-Mud Razor
-Mole Jac
-Muddy Mojo
-Paul's Hatchet
-Snakeskin & Tan Satin Jac Tac
-SJT variant from recent extravaganza
-SHSH
-SHBA

The SMOG and the black AK are lightly used. The rest are just as I received them from BKC or BCS or whoever else I bought stuff from lately.

I'm thinking that one AK, one HR, and the SMOG are necessities. I don't know about the rest. What do y'all think?

And could someone please send me a bottle of Blue Label? It's been a really bad day.

I'm just a piglet so won't tell you what to sell or keep but sorry to hear about this and the best of luck with the pooch. I hope it all works out. :)

if i had your awesome collection and had to sell some, the ones i would keep are:

1 of each gw,
mud and tan razor,
muddy mojo,
snakeskin sjtac,
shsh, shba
ruck, tan ak,
fbmle
tan fbm, blue fgm

the rest would go on the exchange.

Hey, Im sorry about your dog. Is he going to be ok?:(

I don't know. I just got a message on my cell phone from the vet saying the lab results said squamous cell carcinoma and that I probably needed to see a cancer specialist. I think it's treatable, but $$$... +$$$$$.

Hey, I have no advice about what to sell from the list, I just am really sorry to hear about your dog. :( ...and hope for the best possible oucome for you both.

EDITED to add: MORIMOTOM's list looks right on keepers.

Sorry to hear about your dog. Hope all goes well.

It might make sense to start by selling off the ones you have multiples of. Then, when you're able to feed the addiction again, you can hit the BCS fro whatever new surprises Jerry has in store for us.

JT,

I had two cats go of cancer just two years ago. It is very hard to see them decline and in the end I wished that I had not gone to the ends that I had to keep them alive. They were both about 15 when they got sick and they died at nearly 17. If I had it to do over I would have let them go sooner. At times I think that what I did was in was inhumane.

Anyway the point is that if your dog is an older animal you might want to think about what you do. On the other hand if he is maybe five well hell yes do all you can for him.

Good luck with him.

About the knives; I’d sell off all the doubles first and then all the newer stuff that you might be able to pick up again in the future.

Again good luck with your dog.

...and i am sorry to hear about your dog. i had a rottweiler that got cancer at 7 yrs old. had to put her down, toughest decision i ever made.

Thanks for the condolences about the dog. He's been a really good dog, and deserves to have some INFI sacrificed on his behalf. I think I'll start with the half dozen duplicate Game Wardens.

I would agree with the majority advice here. Sell the duplicates first, and otherwise the newest stuff first and keep the older stuff.

The GWs will sell the quickest and probably bring a good price. The AKs are also good candidates, but since you can still get some of them new at BCS, its a little harder.

Good luck and hope your dog recovers.

Dan

He's about 6, which isn't young for a Rott, but he still at least potentially has a few good years ahead of him. If it starts looking like the treatment is just prolonging pain, I'll end it.

So sorry to hear about your pup! And I can relate to you say about how he deserves to have some INFI sacrificed on his behalf. Best wishes for the both of you!

If it were me... I would sell the duplicates, keeping you favorite combos... then if needed move to the newer releases.

Again... best of luck and I hope evrything turns out OK

The up side is that they don't know they are sick. So whe they feel good they are happy as they ever were. Not like us, we feel good and then think about all this is wrong or could go wrong.

Hey I'm going to go drink to learning from out pets!
