Just thought I'd try to get some new ideas for my light office carry. For this list, lets define small as under 3in under 3oz. Some of my current options that I already own are:

Dragonfly2 (nearly every version)
Chaparral
BM Mini Griptilian (G10, AWT, and a Cusadi)
Squid CF/Ti
Small Sebenza 21
BM 330
BM 350
SAK
Poliwog
Delica
ZT 0450 (with custom CF scale)
Spyderco Air
Opinel
C22CF Walker
AG Russel K12
Ladybug/Manbug are too small for me.

I'd like something new!

For real though, I'd go with a Benchmade Axis valet

The new mini-grips look like winners--g10 and upgraded steel. I'm personally very tempted by the full sized ones--though I'm holding out to see what variations in color might come next.

As for the idea of a traditional... I just picked up a Kabar stockman--copper bolsters, 440c steel, and a handsome dog's head shield. It is my favorite non-threatening, lightweight yet tough carry for cutting needs at work and around town. Collectorknives sells a pocket slip with a pocket clip that fits the stockman perfectly.

I have one of the new Mini Grips (555-1) and it is quite nice. I also have two originals, one with AWT scales and one with Cuscadi CF scales. That Kabar is a classy looking knife, but I really prefer one-handed openers.

If you’re willing to go 3.25”, I’d recommend a Benchmade 531. Slim, light-weight, and gets all my tasks done.

Try the Cold Steel Mini Tuff Lite or Tuff Lite. Office friendly cutting awesomeness. The Mini's come in colors, too.

Of the suggestions you listed, I'd go with the Chaparral. Also consider a LionSteel TRE or Inkosi (not sure if they come in under 3oz though...)

I like D'fly H1 or CRK Inkosi...Sebbie are great too.

Why would someone purchase an H1 blade for an office environment? I love H1 and was actually going to suggest a D-Fly in zdp-189, but just curious about that suggestion.

I'd suggest a ZT 0450 or 0808, the 0450 in particular is pretty fun and smaller in hand than I expected.

How about the Benchmade Valet. Small and very gentleman looking. One of the best looking edc knives on the market in my opinion.

Regular D'fly FFG is too thick for my preference, won't slice well at all.
Hollow grind cut lots better.
