What sort of Job do you have?

I have been building power plant generators and wind turbines for the last eight years. Before that did a little bit of everything, including a 10 year stint as an environmental scientist. Decided blue collar (green collar now) at white collar pay was the way to go. A whole lot less stress with much better hours. I also get to use my knives every day :).

Im a Professional magician based out of the Hollywood/Studio City area. many of my tricks require an edge so i always carry something small and elegant when im working(CF Kiwi lately). but i was also a member of the tinkerers shop in middleschool, and all of us were taught to always have one knife and one multi, so i still carry to this day

Cheers!

Unemployed.

I’ve been a salesman, worked in marketing, and merchandizing, spent years as a cook, and a few more years doing landscaping. Its only being able to find landscaping jobs from people willing to actually pay me that’s kept gas in my car and a pack of cigs in my pocket.

If your kids want to get a degree in philosophy tell them to read them my job history…
My degree is/was in philosophy. It was quite rewarding, but certainly did not land me a job.

I'm a paramedic. Been doing it for 7 years now. I was originally an education major and grew very tired of school so I joined the Army. After that I decided that I was not in the mood to finish of my degree and started doing this. I love it! As long as I show up and do my job I never have to deal with a supervisor. I show up and work 24 hours and go home. Its great due to only working 10 days a month and pulling mid 50's with no problem. The only downside is since my son was born my wife and I are on opposite shifts for 1 year so we only get 8 days a month together. But once she finishes her RN I will head to P.A. School and live the good life.

Amazing how things change in just a couple years...Right now I'm working for the county as a Deputy Sheriff at the local jail, October will make two years on the job. I usually carry a knife to work with me, but it gets locked up with the sidearm and the ammunition.

I am a Forest Official/officer with the BC Forest Service. In the old days we were called Rangers. Now I sit in front of a computer most of the time.

I`m in private security and have a contract with the navy. Mostly a desk job, so I`m not so happy about it, and I`m looking into getting a new job. Need a better education tho.

I´m an magazine designer (art director). I design magazines and it´s the best job you could ever have. Creative and good money. But there isnt´t any use for a knife... but I carry one anyway. Right now a Benchmade mini griptilian. What an awsome knife!

I'm a Journeyman Millwright and high pressure pipe/ structural welder by trade, but 4years ago I took a supervision job with the NYC electric/steam company. I run a crew of welders and mechanics doing everything from gas turbine/ generator overhauls to high pressure boiler re-tubes. Currently I am running a new demineralized water plant construction (several hundred feet of stainless steel piping, pumps, and vessels).

I'm a University Student/Night Club Bouncer...My EDCs get used for opening letters, packages, tape, breaking down boxes for recycling. My larger blades get brought up to the cottage and see tons of use for fishing, food prep etc...

I'm a disabled vet living on VA comp and pension for the time being. I'll be going back to school soon for training in more advanced industrial arts like machining. I'll also be going full time as a knifemaker in the next few months.
