I am an Electronics Technician/Engineer. I work at many remote sites in the mountains throughout South Eastern California and Western Nevada. I use a knife in my job cutting wire, rope, insulation etc... Prior to this job I spent 26 years in the USAF. I carried a Gerber Mark I in my boot everyday during that time and it came in handy on a daily basis.

I grew up on a small 50 acre farm in Southern Ohio; of which half was woods.
There were only a couple kids in close range and we spent all day everyday adventuring outdoors and many nights camping outside. Those were the good old days!

I was given my first pocket knife by my Great Grandfather when I was 8 years old. It was a Case XX Whittler 3 blade. I also carried a knife everywhere I went including school until I graduated. Everyone I knew carried a Buck 110 in High School and no one ever pulled one out to use as a weapon. There was no law banning them and we all open carried in a belt sheath.

Sorry for the lengthy post, I got carried away...

I am a retired/disabled former Kroger employee. After 21 years of work, my back gave out. I love to collect knives, and fancy myself as a little survival literate. I worked in scouts(cub and boy) for 8 years with and without my son. After my back gave away, I was pretty much kicked to the curb in scouting because of my health. I have collected knives for about 8 years, and in the last 3 years I have learned that a cheap knife is just that. A cheap knife. I collect Buck, Cold Steel, Ka-Bar, Becker, RAT, Gerber, and some Ontario. I also have some Schrade and S & W. I really like to participate in pass arounds also. This gives me the chance to try out some knives that are way above my expense.:D

I am an Electrical Transmission Operator/Electrical Maintenance Journeyman. Basicically that means I work in Electric Substations, I switch power on and off lines and equipment 120kv-345kv. I also repair and inspect our equipment(circuit breakers, disconnect switches, capacitor banks, etc.

It is a great job, I don't get cooped up in an office, and am usually doing something different daily. Only real down-side is the chance of something blowing up/injury, and having to work wearing heavy flame-retardant clothing (long sleeve/pants)

I use a knife daily at work, and always have at least one at all times.

unemployed for 16 months :(

I wasn't too concerned at first, but I'm really starting to worry now....

I have been a LEO for the last 28 years, The first 12 years was as a Railroad Police Officer in several states including Arkansas, Tennessee, and El Paso, TX. I am also an Internet Safety Consultant, teaching online safety to students and parents. Remember What you say online, stays online...forever

I appears that I have another 10 years to go and that gives me an excuse to carry and buy knives. I have always carried and used knives for work and other outdoor activities.

I have a pretty diverse job. I work for a medium sized wireless ISP as a network administrator/tower rigger . One day I can be sitting in a nice cool air conditioned server room listening to the hum of 25+ servers. The next day I may be 300+ feet off the ground on a radio communications tower repairing/installing gear. I am also trained in tower rescue (luckily I have never had to use it, but the training is always kept up to date), so a good knife to me is priceless especially if I need to cut ropes/misc climbing gear to bring someone to the ground safely.

I love my job because it can be very unpredictable and I always get to encounter a new challenge.

Aircraft Mechanic for the government (KC-135) civilian status. Knives I use: since it's the dot gov, they have a whole bunch of silly rules, like not using or even having personal tools. That being said, I usually have a traditional slipjoint usually Case in one frontpocket, a larger locking folder cliped in the other front pocket. Some sort of keychain knife on my keyring, and a Leatherman with me at any given time. I also carry a small DMT hone with me at all times. I generally rotate what I carry from my EDC pile and am the one most of the guys bring their knives to for sharpening.

I am officially retired, collecting my pennies from Uncle Sam, owned my own businesses for over 30 odd years, the last one lasted for 23 years. I lost it in the housing market crash and now 18 employees are collecting unemployement as I am as well. Now I have a new boss, she has been the love of my life for 45 years now and I am blessed. Working around the house is a job I now love.

College student and a stock monkey. Nothing like climbing on shelves searching for a particular sized graphic tee for some teenie bopper that won't even thank me for helping.
