What sort of Job do you have?

Technical market analyst and portfolio manager for an investment firm.

But when I grow up, I want to be a crash test dummy. Probably better for my health than what I do now!

I'm an er nurse. I don't carry knives at work because I often have to wrestle with/tie down psyche patients and whatever the cops drag in, and its against policy. Wish I could use my knives safely at work but I have trauma shears that can cut through whatever I need to.

Assistant manager at an apartment community . . . for now. I am bored with it and looking for a change.

At work I keep a Classic SD SAK on my key chain which has helped out many times in opening boxes, tightening screws, picking my teeth after lunch, and plucking facial hair. Anything bigger than a swiss Classic would raise eyebrows, so I don't push my luck.

Outside of work I EDC a Rat 1 . . . for now. I am bored with it and looking for a change :D

I'm a baby sitter of the Nth degree! Been in Youth Corrections so long that the kids from the kids I first watched, are starting to come in lol. Needless to say my love for slippies was born out of occupational necessity.

Commercial Fauna Harvester (Kangaroo shooter....human consumption) for the last sixteen years, for the last two weeks I have been running a B-double on interstate line-haul from South Australia to New South Wales....tonight I am sitting on a 550 hp Cat (Kenny) and hauling just on sixty-two tonnes.....these trailers are like sitting on razor blades and it is hailing and raining up in the mountains ahead of me.

Oh joy !

I was in the merchant navy for 2 years till I got hitched. Joined the Singapore Police Force and Singapore Police Coast Guard and served for almost 10 years until a service injury (right forearm) put a halt to my career and pretty much ended my marriage. I was in and out of depression for a bit but I've finally got back on the saddle. I miss serving my community but I guess I'm still contributing in some small way as an elementary school teacher. It's a tiring but very rewarding job and I love interacting with kids. I recently celebrated my 1st year in the teaching service. Yeah!

I've only started collecting recently and most of my knives are production folders from Victorinox, Spyderco, Kershaw and Benchmade. When I'm not teaching I spend a lot of time at our local sweetwater and saltwater fishing holes. I tie saltwater fishing flies as a form of therapy for my injured arm/hand but I can't fly fish nor do I own a single fly rod. It's just about impossible with my disability. My EDC at school is a Spyderco Dragonfly; the perfect little big knife for packages and light utility. Outside school it is a Spyderco all black Endura 4 (PS). I've no idea where my collection is heading but I just signed up as a gold member here because I love the hobby and the folks on BF are really nice.

I'm in marine electronics. My knives get used (sometimes HARD) for all kinds of stuff on the tug boats & barges I work on.

Unemployed.

I’ve been a salesman, worked in marketing, and merchandizing, spent years as a cook, and a few more years doing landscaping. Its only being able to find landscaping jobs from people willing to actually pay me that’s kept gas in my car and a pack of cigs in my pocket.

If your kids want to get a degree in philosophy tell them to read them my job history…

Firefighter/EMT I carry a Gerber multitool, SAK mini-champ with a Photon light attached, and a Camillus Heat, thats in my day pants. In my bunker gear I carry a Meyerco Rescue with a window breaker, and on my coat next to my light I have a Gerber E-Z out Rescue. I am never looking for a knife. And the guys on my crew know where to go to get one.

I am a student, but got into knives via scouts, and as an extension, the outdoors.
I hope to join the police (once I am old enough) although policeing over here is a bit different to policeing in the US

I taught in Alabama's post secondary system (college) for over twenty years, retiring some fourteen years ago. I've since been an Americorps VISTA member working for Habitat for Humanity, a woodturner/custom furniture maker, and... a range officer at a public shooting range. Yeah, a dichotomy there - right wing gun & knife toter & VISTA.

Now, I'm a bum... with a retirement! Next summer... SSI!

I'm a painter so i use a razor (snap ) blade every day-all day! I also own various scrapers, mud knives and utility knives. My hobbies are hunting, fishing and knife making/iron work. I grew up with firearms and knives. Fishing in a river or on a lake every weekend, hiking for quail and dove every fall. I feel growing up with guns and knives teaches youngsters more responsibility than an XBOX 360 controller ever will!!!:D
