What steel has better edge retension? 5160 vs SR101 vs VG10

I think you are making a good decision. There are many great knife companies out there and Fallkniven is one of them.
Their laminated VG-10 is incredibly tough, sharpens up nice and holds a good edge with no worries of corrosion.
I have a S1 and feel its a lot of knife in a compact package. I also have a F1 and PHK that are both great in their own way.
Which ever you decide it will serve you well.

They defineatly fight like a mofo. Muskies even more so. Do you not have any pike in texas? Probably to hot for them huh. What kinda fish you catch down in Texas?

I haven't seen any pike here. What I catch mainly is lots of catfish. Some drum, reds, bass, crappie sometimes. The bull reds put up a hell of a fight! The reel starts screaming as soon as you hook one. They run like crazy and you have to fight for every inch. You really have to "earn" the right to eat those suckers!

That sux you don't have any pike down there all in all probably my favorite fish. Always bitting and if you don't have a boat can always catch tons of them from shore. They got good meat on them even though they look like alligator snakes. Crappie fishing is awesome certain times of the year can catch 150 or more of them in a day if you got 3 people in the boat. Also got bass and catfish up here but don't try to catch them as much as others. Catch catfish alot when fishing for walleye. Don't eat catfish much but from what i've had is good.
