I'm waiting on the Blade Show...I just know I'll find my one, last survival knife...that Holy Grail (NOT):D

ROCK6

Lord knows I have WAAAYYYY more knives than I need .... but the "journey" looking for the "right ones" still grips me ..... really I need to down size the amount I have as I am running out of available time to test and compare them all .... I go out now to practise some skill or another and only get to the first "task" I had lined up .... taking too many knives to compare and contrast is the issue. Also .... staying on top of sharpening is becoming a serious chore. There are knives by rights I always promised myself I would only sharpen on "wet stones" .... but in lieu of time being scarce they are having to go on the belt sander. All this being said I am contemplating making the most expensive knife purchase I have ever done.

I may go for a Japanese Steel Shiva Ki blade .... it is probably worth about half of my collection to date .... but unless you have tried them all .... you never really know. If this one enabled me to sell others in a contented mind state that I had what I wanted .... it would be worth it.

But at the price it is a heavy decision .... especially for it to be a "heavy user"....

None I'm planning to get any time soon...I'm really pretty well set I think...though I will admit to a slight yearning for an ESEE H.E.S.T.

I'm hoping to save up enough for a HEST, I'm thinking it would be the prefect companion (knife wise) for my trip to peru in the summer.
unfortuneately, what with paying for the trip, vacccinations ect, I suspect the money won't be there in time. I might have to live with just an izula :(

That's a sweet looking knife Pit ... Mr. Wohlwend is a talented maker

Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

I think I'm pretty well set as far as knives go. I think I'm done...except maybe for a yellow handled, CV, Case Stockman with my initials or something engraved in it.
I've got a BK9, a couple CS machetes, an Izula, an RC5, a few others...I don't think I want anymore knives.

I have been eyeing the sword canes over at Berger, though. Those things are GORGEOUS. Plus, I'll admit to a certain infatuation for canes and bowler hats that was only exascerbated by watching the new Sherlock Holmes movie.

I think a sword cane is next on my list.

I'm waiting for Bark River to put out another run of Mikro Canadians. Maybe in a few months, judging by their production schedule...

Iboschi. The Turkey Mountain chopper will have a 10" blade forged from 52100 with differentiial heat treat. Etched wrought Iron spacer and Black canvas micarta handle for durability.

52100 gives an unbelievable edge and holds it well while being fairly easy to field sharpen. While maintaining about the same level of toughness as 5160.

Someone is going to have fun with this Hudson Bay Camp knife that I made....:D It's got an 8" blade of 5160 with curly maple handle.

i really like his full tang fighting bowie design. There is a nice thread with pics in the custom arena showing it off. Which model was you looking at if i may ask?

I went the high end custom route myself a few years back and never looked back. I'm not saying you will get 10 times the performance of cheaper knives or anything but i think a fellow knife knut will understand:cool:

Crossada I find myself moving more nd more into total customs. Primarily forged fixed blades. It seems to be the only way that I can get what I am really looking for.

For me the added expense is worth the end result.

Me too:thumbup: This is my latest purchase from Matt Lamey built to my specs. I used busses and what not for years but these forged customs just have a "personality" that other knives are lacking. Matt has a much better pic of it on his website. My camera skills suck.

ESEE Izula folder. Oh how my heart wants....

Oh and since the giveaway, I'm digging the JK Handmade knives EDC pretty fiercely....

I'm waiting on two:

A Swamp Rat RatManDu
and special order rampless Bravo-1 from Bark River, which I think finally shipped today.

I'm waiting on a nessmuk and bow legged chopper from fiddleback. I doubt the chopper will see much deep woods carry, but the nessmuk will likely get a lot of time strapped to the front pockets on my AARN pack.
