What to do about dumbass gangsta wannabes?

Despite people assuming my fabulous wealth, I in fact pay out to Uncle Sam the equivalent of a Mercedes E Class monthly payment for my education, which affords me a rather middle class lifestyle.

Anyways, about two weeks ago, some norteños wannabes with a .22lr did a drive by shooting at a house two blocks from mine (f'ing pussies). The alarming part to me is that the neighbor of the gangster wannabe target was up and heard the shots at 0100 and came out to see what was going on. He yelled at the shooting wannabes that he called the police and they took two pot shots at him, striking the ground and his decorative walk lamp in the upright pole.

Long story short, we know that the "trouble" familia has a son who runs with some clique of twats who come into our neighborhood from "the wrong side of the drainage ditch" that separates their run down, crime ridden subdivision from our law abiding one like a pretty decent border because all of it is fenced off save for a city access point that these idiots use for infiltration and exfiltration of our neighborhood.

Short of setting up a L ambush for these fucks and sending them to an early and deserved grave so the other death-worthy abortions quit coming by to shoot at the local twerp, what should we do (within the bounds of the law and good taste) to either convince the problem familia to move on or to deny the ditch access to his homies?
 
Paintball gun. Nonlethal, but painful and it'll either get the message across or have them gang up on you. Good luck :D:p

That's a great one! Except I would also have something a little more lethal ready as if I was some gangster punk wannabe I would consider it "disrespecting me" and would probably shoot someone for hitting me with a paintball gun.
 
What do you guys think about the clandestine cultivating of numerous blackberry canes within the drainage ditch area? They would eventually overgrow the "trail" that isn't supposed to be in there, especially if done in depth.

If nobody else drives that path, I'd suggest a large board with nails drove through or a few well placed cinderblocks.

It's basically a foot path about 45 yards end to end from our good neighborhood to the bad one.

Ah. I don't know then. You could always kill one of them and stick his head on a pike as a warning to the rest.
 
If you plan on defending yourself and your neighboors from these @#$% @#$%$ with leathal force, it would be a good idea to do it from a mobile or unmarked location. By that I mean dont shoot back from your door steps. If they plan to retaliate on you they will no where to go. Be somewhere where they would not asume to find you next time -just in case.

If you could scare the crap out of them, maybe you wouldnt need to do that.

IT seems like those g-fags are breeding like mice -they have began to invade my home town in Oregon spray painting ms13 on peoples fences and stabing people at parties. It is a small town too; WTF.

Along the bean bag lines, there are several non-lethal rounds available that will still hurt like a mother, and do some damage as well. I know I've seen some at the local gun show with anything from pepper powder and OC spray to roofing nails and metal shards (bet that one hurts!). There was even one that had large metal balls in it. They were large enough that in a standard 12 gauge only four would fit. Something tells me a few well placed shots with something like that might deter them some. And I will also say, as someone who plays paintball, if you dial up the fps on those things they will HURT. A hit to the head will hurt like hell, and can really mess a dude up. It's a good non-lethal option for causing a lot of damage. Nut shots hurt too..... :p

I also agree with the mobile location idea, you don't what them figuring out where you live and paying you a visit when your not expecting it.

As a secondary thought, you could disable their vehicle somehow (nails, shots to the tires, ect) and call the police at the same time. If your lucky they might show up before these morons get wise and hide their gun. I don't know about your area, but where I live you cannot have a gun readily accessible in the car. And if you can show the officer the damage they have done so far there may be some serious legal recourse.

I say install some 24 hour cameras around your house that cover your street and possibly down the street at say the first intersection. If you mess around and start firing off paintball guns, or 12 gauge beanie bags, there is a remote chance that you're gonna find yourself in just as much trouble as these misfits would be. Also, a community watch program could help. Maybe call the local police department and see to what extent you are able to defend and what the use of deadly force laws are outside your property.
The laws are so f'd up now. of course, if they come inside your home, 12 gauge bird shot would do the trick.
 
Stick the paintballs in the freezer overnight. You dont want em breaking. They hurt less when they break.

If you're going to use less-lethal then you may as well go ahead and use lethal. My point being if you are going to defend yourself within the parameters of the law then do so. Less-lethal is for cops, IMO. If a citizen feels his life is in jeopardy to the point of needing to shoot a bean bag, he would be better off shooting 230 grains at the perp. Next problem, these gang-bangers will retaliate, regardless of what you do if they find out who is screwing with their clique. Use less lethal on one of these pieces of shit and see what that gets you. You just made a statement to them that you are not willing to kill them and they will be back to visit you with LETHAL intentions. I know this sounds like the pussy way out but I would move to a better place. If you start vigilanteing their asses you will go to jail or they will find a way to retaliate (since they rarely fear going to jail). Depends on how serious the problem really is but when it comes to today's society there is not much you can do. Move or either use the border method of SSS. (Shoot, Shovel and Shut Up), with the last S being the most important (and one that most folks can rarely do simply because they want to brag about anything they do).

+1 non-lethal is not non-sueable, in fact in most states it means you discharged a firearm when your life was not indangered and therefore you get jail.

consider placing one of those digital trail cameras that hunters use along that path that way you can prove what a nuasance the trail is to the neighborhood.

Well, I don't know what the laws are like where you live.
Around here, they'd just get lit up when they did their drive-by.

They tried that crap where I live and they decided to leave once it became apparent that several of them wouldn't be returning from their forays, they moved on.

ETA: don't use birdshot, not even close up. It DOES NOT act like a slug at close range, and a hit gives nasty, but very shallow wounds.
 
I would do everything possible to stay out of the fray. Put pressure on the politicians and police. Make them address the issue. Vigilante justice, while rewarding, usually leads to a bad ending for the vigilantes.
