What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Looks really nice. What did you use to polish up the carbon steel? Do you have a "before" picture? It looks like new. Carrying an old Western Slim Stockman today.

I borrowed some polishing compound from my father. He gets it through his work. A full piece of the compound is the size of a brick and white in color. Next time I'm there I'll get the name of it. Unfortunately I didn't take a before pick and I should start doing that. I'm working on a used 34 OT now.

Here's the 34OT. I just got it finished and have only been carrying it for an hour.

Barehead slimline trapper, all day. Thinking about maybe mixing it up tomorrow, but it's just such a nice blade and so light in the pocket, I have a hard time picking something else to carry instead.

I felt the powerfull pull of folksy today, so I forsook my Wenger SI and am carrying my yella peanut in my pocket, with a number 7 Opinel in the belt pouch usually occupied by the Wenger.

Of course the sears pocket screwdriver and P-38 are back on my keyring.

I have a C.Platts and Sons stockman in my left front pocket and a Wenger backpacker in the right.

Case Copperhead, Vic Executive.

Just got a Vic Mechanic and Wenger Backpacker from Ebay today. Mechanic looks and feels like a solid tool -- got it so I could stop carrying a pair of pliers or a multitool when running/hunting my Brittany, for pulling thorns and cactus needles. Backpacker will go in an emergency kit, after it's sharpened.

Outside of the Al Mar and the father & son case set , all get used.
Loveless City Knife stays in my pocket , Remington and Sea Horse whittler stay in the lunch box , Mt Man goes in a sheath on my belt.
The Kershaw dbl cross stays on top of the fridge for family use.

The Father & Son set was a gift and stays in it's tin... to be handed down to the first son that has his own son...hopefully many years before that happens.

I find myself reaching for this knife quite often.
The TL-29, it pairs up nicely with my CeeTees, Ive gotta make me a sheath for this pair someday.
I dont know why, but I'm quite found of this knife.

What you need, stockman242, is a fancy $75 multi tool with pliers, wire cutters, a knife blade, screwdriver and wire stripper. ;) Oh wait.

The folksy approach: Simple, effective, time tested, free of bells and whistles -- gotta love it! :D

BTW, stockman242, how is that book in the photo? Good stuff?
Bought it off amazon a while back, I like it a lot, Ray Holmes alternates chapters, that deal with the work of a cowboy with chapters about his life. Very interesting stuff, he also talks about the depression and the various jobs that he held.
If you liked 'the old man and the boy', I think you would enjoy 'working cowboy'

To get back on the topic:p : what did you carry today mnblade?:
