Today was a 'snow day'.

That is, they closed down work!! :)

Meant I got to play in the woods.....I took my new addition from Mr Black along....

....and something a bit more substantial just in case ;)

I missed the delivery of my new GEC whilst out. Nevermind, it was worth it.

That leuku looks great! Can you give us some more details about it?

Hope you had a good day mate, I managed to get everything I needed to do done by early afternoon, so was able to go and play with a particularly good 11% Nogne beer in North Bar :)

Thom, those two knives are great looking... especially the puukko is a real beauty :)

Cheers Andi. It's not quite a puukko ;)

Well you are getting warmer ;)

It's a Samekniv. The Norwegian cousin of the (Lapin-)Leuku.

This one is by Knivsmed Strømeng. It's their 9" 'Old Fashioned' model (traditional black natural finish on blade and handle is treated with birch tar).

Well it started out a bit turd but the early finish (9:30am!) helped it turn a bit peachy.

That sounds like a heady brew!

Thanks Jack

Thanks for explanation, scruff :)

Birch tar... hm? Sounds pretty interessting. I really like the look of that one. I was in Norway in 2008 and didn´t find any traditional knife in Trondheim... Maybe it would have been better to look more closely... :grumpy:

I'm carrying my "Happy Thanksgiving" mini copperlock today. I picked up the TC Barlow just for the photo.

I love the look of this knife. I am tempted by the half-whitt but this Brown horn is just incredible. I have never had horn and the black does not appeal to my eye like this brown. Great catch

Back to my old faithful for the work week ;)

Of these Weird Little Stubby Things®, I'm going with the one in the middle. ;)

They're growing on me, little by little. One day soon, and I promise not to get my nose outa joint, you'll likely be able to point your finger and laugh at me when I post a picture of my own WLST®. ;)

Today, I've got my Schrade Walden 163 whaler, and a little Buck 102 on my belt. Cold outside, in the 20s today, so working outside with gloves on means that a little sheath knife is my choice.

Edit: Jack, that Normark Swede looks nice. Seems to me I haven't seen a Normark-branded version like yours in a while... is it the same as the EKA knife that looks very similar?
