What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Heading out into the cold with these two.

Nice choice Gary. Jerry is making me a Jack Russell in M4 and stabilized old growth redwood burl. Is that Westinghouse micarta on that Erickson?

RR sunfish (still suprised at how well these take an edge!)

I like the "Jack Russell". Mine came with a nice Paul Long pocket sheath (see below). I can't wait to see yours.
Yes that's antique ivory Micarta on the Erickson. It's a little one at 3 1/4", but serves me well most days.

That's a beauty scruffuk, love that buffalo horn.

Kris

Thanks Kris. I'd been hankering after a good bit of Buffalo....and a Moose(-ish) pattern....and a Wharncliffe blade....

This really did tick a lot of boxes for me.

Ooooh, that does look good.

So, what do you think?

~ P.

Very pleased. But I got dragged into a prolonged meeting so have not really had much time to play with it yet.

There is a very minor flaw where the shield hole seems to have been cut a little too wide.

Also, the wharncliffe still sticks out, into my paly a little when folded away, clip point deployed.
I may get used to it....or even adjust that....but all in good time.

Really though, I am chuffed with it.

I have not taken at all to my 2012 forum knife so needed a GEC I could really love.
This should be it.....but I was eyeing up a #66 long before this one ;)

Jack´s gift, an A. Wright & Sons Lamb Foot Knife was with me today. Need to go to Munich tomorrow for work - maybe I´ll take the Small Stockman with me... :D

Jack, that Normark Swede looks nice. Seems to me I haven't seen a Normark-branded version like yours in a while... is it the same as the EKA knife that looks very similar?

Thanks :) Yes, it's the EKA Swede 88. This one dates from about 1991, but in the 1970's Normark were big with hunters and fishermen here, selling a number of EKA knives under the Normark brand. I also have a Normark-branded Martinni FB, and Normark sold several Martinni models under their brand from the 1970's onwards here. I'm not sure why they put their name on at all really, partticularly since the original stamps/etches were left in place. Maybe the subject for a thread?

I picked one up from 1939 today. Thread and photos to follow.

I can up my game today....

....its a joy to behold.

Congratulations mate, that's a beauty. Glad you're pleased with it.

Great pic Andi

THanks Jack... it is from inside of my car, while I was driving home and stopped somewhere near the road. It´s difficult to take pics of knives and drive at the same time; though... better not! ;)

Idea shamelessly snatched from Jon above. It's certainly not as warm here as in California (temps in upper 20s F, with wind chill in the teens), but the snow is all gone and it is sunny!

Just the Appaloosa peanut today.

If you peer carefully through the leaves you can see the hind quarter and tail of our mutt. She lost interest in the photo shoot after the wind knocked the peanut out of the bush for the third time.
