What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Those wallets are a lot of fun, and honestly not to bad of a lestherworking project to under take. All you need is an old glove and some thread and some basic leather working tools. I made this one for my father from one of the gloves he used back when I was a kid and played little league. He used to be our coach and went to all of our games. I think he misses it. If I remembere right I didn't even bother getting a leather working knife out, I just used a buck 110 cause I was lazy. 😅 cut myself pretty good when I slipped disassembling the glove.

Cool wallet Jon :) There was a member - jone jone - who did a nice giveaway here a few years back, and I won one of the wallets she had made :)

Great lineup Gary, that Gunboat is amazing, it’s got everything going on! 😄👍
Four good-looking knives there Gary, that Gunboat is VERY fancy! :)
Thanks for the comments, Todd & Jack; I'm glad you can recognize the subdued serenity of my pearl gunboat canoe! ;)🤓

Today it’s the SwayBack Gent. Sometimes I just want a knife that’ll ride well in my watch pocket. I tried the Peanut, I really did, but it wasn’t for me.
I like that these are so light and (my examples anyway) are really well made. I’ve never felt under-knifed while carrying one. BUT, I wouldn’t try to skin Grizz with one!

GP
Your Swayback Gent is a beauty!:thumbsup::cool: I have the 2-blade version, also in chestnut jigged bone, and I love it.
Is your O'Keefe's Working Hands container quite old? I have a couple of those around the house, and the labels on mine are quite different in design.

I’m going with Jack, and a thrifty little canoe. 😊View attachment 1645983
Splendid Texas Jack, and the little tortoise canoe is a big winner!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

A pair of pocket knives to be proud of, José!:cool::thumbsup: Admirable stag and horn!

Case 6347 Amber Bone for Thursday...
Those '47s are probably my favorite Case (non-sowbelly) stockman!:cool::thumbsup:

Been awhile since I've posted here. I sure missed this place. The rest of the internet sucks.

My carry for today. I still feel like an idiot for not wanting one when the production schedule came out. Good thing I didn’t make the mistake of passing on it.
Three examples of fine craftsmanship in that photo!:cool::cool:

I’m using @JohnDF’s lovely slip so I don’t crack that old bone banging around. I’m a man of action, ya know.
Also have this Wenger Backpacker, which for me is an ideal 2 layer SAK...

Really like that photo, Jeff!:thumbsup::cool:
I think I used to be a man of action, but it feels like I've now become a geezer of leezhure. o_O

PAL Jack and a Remington Cattle knife

I love the look of bone in the sunshine, Steve!:thumbsup:;)

I've had this orange bone Rough Rider stockman for 5 or so years, carried and used from time to time. Had it in the pocket for the past 3 days and I should carry it more often, it really is a nice knife. The only flaw I can detect is a very minor and only slightly visible area of blade rub on one blade only. Carried today with a Heritage jack in rosewood.
I've been away from this thread a few days so playing catch up, good to see so many post and fine knives showing up here daily. 👍View attachment 1646426
Captivating couple of knives, Greg!:thumbsup::cool:

Again, 4 great knives in 4 great photos GT!! I do like your RR Stockman!😎👍

Yes! They are my notes for implementing the rotations to transform east, north, up coordinates on a local tangent plane to x,y,z coordinates in an earth-centered, earth-fixed system, and the inverse. I could go on and on about how and why I use it, but I will spare everybody that.

Thanks for the confirmation and additional info. I thought they looked like rotation matrices, but I had no idea what you were doing.:thumbsup:🤓

Nice that the Chestnuts are appearing, they like mushrooms are a delicious autumn harvest. Unfortunately, Chestnuts won't grow up here so I have to wait for them to come from Italy or in cans from France for sauces.

Have you trained the dog to dig truffles yet?? ;)

Hi,

Thank you, the mushrooms are waiting here, I had found 3 ceps 2 weeks ago but nothing more. My daughter picked some yesterday but near Bordeaux.
Chestnuts will be small here again this year, we didn't have enough rain. 🤷‍♂️
This dog is an aristocrat, he likes thick carpets and clean paths, he doesn't want to go in the coppice or get his paws dirty in puddles.
He has forgotten that his ancestors were hunters... He doesn't even chase deer anymore since this year.
For mushrooms, I have to do without his services, it is even better that I leave him at home if I want to search in peace. 😂
Good Sunday Liam :)

I appreciate that, Gary.
In the interest of accuracy, the action aint what it used to be.
Still tired at the end of the day, though, so I must have done something.
Case XX Barlow for me today.
