I thought you where Bobby Dylan for a minute.Rough Rider canoe and a Case 47 whittler in the pockets today. It'll be all fixed blades for me this coming week as I head to the Northwoods tomorrow for a hunt with a couple of Mich. friends. We'll get plenty of exercise tromping around the forest along the beautiful Au Sable River and will eat well around the campfire each night. Bringing plenty of groceries though as game is sparse where we're going,..... at least that what we tell ourselves when we have no luck.

I never get tired fawning over that popcorn stag. It must feel wonderful in the hand. Such a beautiful pocket knife. As it's Stag Saturday this deserves an airing.

The barlow has never really spoken to me much but I really like the green micarta one. Looks traditional enough but with subtle modern touch!![]()
Fury vs Wilder did not disappoint. Some much needed entertainment after having to skip out on blade show due to the flu. Been fondling this great set since completing it. I have a feeling the BF 21’ #86 is going to become the user from this run solely because it’s 1095 carbon steel. Really wish the 2AB’s were as well. Part of the fun with these traditionals is watching it patina for me.
Thanks for the info on your Alox SAK, Jeff....
5K Qs ~ I agree. More personality, or aspirations of it, when you’re a name, not a number.
Yes, it’s the Harvester or Pioneer Harvester.
The 7 comes from it’s seven alleged functions, three of which they get out of one blade ~ screwdriver, bottle opener, and wire stripper.
That one IS different, Gary; really cool the way the butt of the knife is made to look like a coq's head!Something a little different for me today.
Have a peaceful Sunday!

Cool photo, Barrett; I may have to take a 12-hr road trip to get a photo with my $5 Klaas sodbuster!Headed back to Minnesota, but on my way out of town I had to stop and take this photo. This restaurant is just down the street from my mom’s house.

Thanks for the pure poetry, John!...
I wanted to say thank you, but it doesn’t seem enough...
You brought a smile, and a laugh, thanks for all that stuff.

That would be an interesting approach to building an accumulation of knives, David! Thanks GT, all I need is a Russian traditional and I can call that group the "Allies" I'll need an Italian knife and a higonokami knife to add to my German traditionals to counter balance them![]()
Thanks (and thanks for your contribution to that set).I always enjoy seeing the Constant Quartet.![]()
Good-looking Case butterbean!Well Jim, that's not too bad! All I caught was a sunburn. I am not complaining though, it's always a treat to spend time outdoors.

Correct on both counts, Jeff! You could get by fine with nothing more than those. Of course, you’d be craving a canoe...
That's a fantastic memento of your grandfather! Thanks, Gary. I have one inside, too, so it’s not out getting weathered. This talk of my Grandpa’s corn sign prompted me to carry a corn seed knife of his that I got after he died. I don’t tend to carry it for fear of losing it, but I was mostly at home today working in the yard and watching baseball, so I figured it was safe. It’s a cool little modified stockman pattern with my Grandpa’s name on the other side.

Glad a story of my misguided youth could amuse you, Jack!Thank you GaryI'm sorry, but your story made me laugh so much, talk about different times!
A couple of centuries before we were born, fathers used to take their sons to country fairs and fight them with cudgels, so perhaps we got off lightly!

First-class pair, Steve; I'm admiring all the navy knives that seem to be showing up recently! These two today
2AB and an Imperial Navy Utility

That's a splendid pen knife!!
Another of those iconic navy knives; grand example, Rachel!...
Today's Random Tuesday carry is an old Imperial Easy Open, a gift from @t.willy . I made a fancy fob for it.

Those turned out really well! So, after getting stellar results Rit-dyeing my creamsickle colored nightmare tribal lock, I thought I’d dye a medium trapper that didn’t have the most wonderful bonestag covers. Same dye, same bottle

And here’s the stockman

Strangely, the stockman came out black and the dye didn’t take on the sides of the bone…
Weird stuff.
I like it though, I’m gonna carry it today,
AND I’ve learned that I can’t bitch about Case’s
( or GEC’s) wonky colors. Natural materials don’t always do what ya want them to.
I appreciate your encouragement, Jack.Fab foursome Gary![]()

Thanks Gary. It is a pretty neat knife. I like the rooster's head too. That one IS different, Gary; really cool the way the butt of the knife is made to look like a coq's head!![]()
The bone handles are wonderful, love the color.

Why are dangerous creatures always so beautiful?
