Another beautiful morning and another fireside photo. This time with my new small Texas Jack. It arrived yesterday afternoon. Can’t show the blade yet, it’s still “naked,” needs some patina!

I appreciate your encouragement, Dave.I have been following that advice also since I read so many people on the annual bladeforum knife thread saying, and I am paraphrasing, that there are so many trivial comments from people who do not contribute. But so many great knives and interesting posts that I feel compelled to join in.
Thank you Gary!
You should be more than pleased as they are beautiful as well as functional, I love the canoe collection as well as all the others.
Terrific trio Gary![]()

3 winners, Jeff!View attachment 1678358Wednesday is a good day to tote whittlers and wood.
My latest TL-29, a four line Camillus. I have put a razor edge on it, but still need to flush it out to clean up the blade well.
A Schrade 804 given to me by Half/Stop, and one of my Wengers, a Backpacker II.

Nice wood doodle. I may have to try that.
Isn't that wood Möbius strip an amazing bit of whittling? It looks like M.C. Escher has been whittling at your house.Pretty cool

Speaking of cards, a pair of Aces is a metaphor for your carries!![]()
Thanks Gary. I didn’t know it came in Chestnut either, it just popped up and I snagged it. A couple days later it’s big brother popped up so I snagged it too!Congrats on the new Texas Jack, Todd!
I didn't know that pattern was available in chestnut jigged bone; I'll have to rethink my opinion on Texas jacks. I've always loved the shape of the Texas jack pen blade, but I've gradually become quite prejudiced against square-bolstered knives and almost never buy them any more. But the appeal that CV chestnut jigged bone has for me probably trumps that bolster prejudice!![]()

Thank you, GT. It's staying in my pocket all week. The little bitty lambsfoot is turning out to be a most useful blade shape.WW! Superb job of reprofiling that secondary blade, Rachel! Your Pony Jack has classic style!

I have neither of these 2 patterns, but one thing that always comes to mind when looking at a knife photo here, is “could that serve as my only knife?” Either of your pair probably could. Well, ok... along with a Swiss Army knife or maybe an electrician!Watch pocket knife this week is a Case XX half-congress (thanks for the GAW, Bill):
