What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Heres a Schrade Walden Butter and Molasses 234K it's akin to the Old Timer 33OT in size. This is the original variation of Butter and Molasses compared to the more orange/yellow solid version they offered in the end. I like these covers much better.
This knife is absoulutly new but stored poorly. I clean, sharpened and oiled and put it back into service  Both blades centered in the well with no play at all when open, a great (SHARP) little knife.

That’s a cool looking knife Paul, hope it’s warming up a bit for you up there. 😎👍

I have tried to make it sharper, any tips on doing that?
Nice one. 😁👍

If yours is like mine, the factory edge is 10DPS, according to my EZ Wares guided rod sharpener that has a 10DPS slot.

I gave mine a couple swipes to make sure the edges are even, followed by a clean (?) dry leather strop.

I might get a black ultra fine Arkansas stone, when the budget allows and give it a few light swipes on that, doing my best not to put on a micro bevel.

Is yours Czech 14260 Spring Steel?

very nice, I think they wore them in their socks while wearing leder hosen, thats a step to far for me though.

The sock thing is how the Scots wear their sgian-dubh. In Germany you carry your Trachtenmesser or jagdnicker in a special knife pocket in your leather pants ( lederhosen). I wear them myself when i visit my inlaws in Bavaria because my wife is from Bavaria. Sometimes the trachtenmesser is combined with two forks, a large one and a small one ( small one for the wife). Carry is considered legal in Bavaria when blade lenght is below 12 cm. Local laws during festivities can declare the carry of trachtenmesser illegal. Seeing that a lot of beer is consumed on the oktoberfest it might not be a bad idea.

The more I carry this, the more I appreciate it. So much knife packed into a trim package. Very useful around the house on a Saturday!
You are correct! See below...
A Wright Lambsfoot for the annual pruning of my plum, peach, apricot, fig, and mulberry trees and grape vines.
I have pruners and loppers from Corona, Felco, ARS, Bahco, Hickock, and Okatsune. My favorite is ARS, followed by Bahco. The Okatsune is a great cutter and would be my favorite if it had better handles.

One of my three orange trees (all are valencia, which have much better flavor than navel). I won't start eating these until May, after which I will have an orange every day through October

Very interesting and impressive! I’ll bet you have a beautiful property. Love those pruners, too.
Why do you dispose of your prunings rather than use them as mulch? Possible spreading of disease between plants? Just curious.
