What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I haven’t been sharing photos in this thread as often as I’d like to but I am keeping my streak of interacting with every page going !

I had an absolute fantastic mail call today and I am just thrilled with this example by GEC. Couldn’t be happier with my first blue camel bone!

That is a beauty! They really nailed the 94s.

They certainly did! I had an handful of opportunities to pick one up sooner but I passed because I really wanted a 49 blue camel bone instead. I took what had to be my 5th opportunity the other day as a sign that I should just pick up a 94 from KSF and boy am I glad I did. We’ll see what new pattern GEC introduces next before I try to pick up a 49

Really like this pair. Just a full spectum of useable blades.
" Totin " this today. One of my most treasured and favourites. A few reasons, Lambsfoot/Sheepsfoot are my favourite blades, love the wood on these covers, but the main reason, this blade was hardened and tempered properly. Takes a wicked edge, but more importantly keeps it. Can be relied on never to let you down when you require a sharp blade, a " TRUE " work knife. Have a good weekend everyone and take care out there.🤠:)

Very well said about blades holding an edge.
I have to comment on your coaster. It sure looks like ash.
Last year, after finally gatting the dead monster ash all the way down, having gotten badly hung in some of my walnuts, I made a bunch of coasters just like that one. Tied them with red ribbon in stacks of six, put a tiny pine cone on each, and gave them for Christmas presents. Also made a couple of cutting boards out of bigger log slices. Sanding and polishing ash end grain will not be NOT on my want-to-do list anytime soon!
And since mine had been dead for several years due to the emerald ash borers, it has that same beautiful spalting caused by fungus that yours has.

Welcome to this place. Lot of pages to catch up on, huh?

Thank you! This photo illustrates the best kind of coffee cup known to mankind.
When in a truckstop or cafe that uses these heavy china mugs, I have often sent the waitress back to ask the owner how much to charge me for it.
The cup and case were both made to fit comfortably in the hand

Thanks, it's fairly intricate and I was glad that this type of leather would take an embossing as well as it does.

Supposed to be cold here tomorrow, down in the low 30's, and foggy and overcast, but I'm still looking forward to going out for a hike :) Have a great weekend everyone

Looks like you will be prepared for anything toting all that steel Mr. Jack ! Have a good weekend yourself ! :) Looks like we might get up to 6 inches of snow tomorrow.
