What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I gave an involuntary whimper at reading this. I can’t get warm enough right now.
And your salmon soup sounds so good.
I have some quarts of turkey stock that I canned from two carcasses back in November. I need to make a soup.

This knife will stay on me until this covid is gone. I toted it for several weeks in early ‘20 while recovering from acute appendicitis and an appendectomy. So is there healing power in smooth yellow bone? Yes, there is.View attachment 1722485View attachment 1722484

I woke around 6:00 am and logged on here for a bit. Then put the phone down and next thing I knew it was 1:00 pm.

Got the alert that my daughter’s test is also positive.😔 Poor girl. She’s non verbal, so it’s hard for her to say how much she hurts.

She seems to be faring better than her old man which is a blessing.

Hope you all have a blessed day!

Sounds like a rough go, Jeff, I hope you and your daughter are both feeling better soon!

Ram's Horn today, very enthusiastic about this one thanks to @Chui

Absolutely beautiful horn on that one, Will! I have one of those in Micarta, and they’re excellent knives, as well.

A unusual pairing of custom made pieces with me today, a Mark Job Fish Barlow and Chris Montgomery Bird & Trout fixed blade:

It’s been a while since I’ve seen one of Mark’s Fish Barlows… such a cool knife!

Oh, really?! That's annoying, but they're not the only cutler to release a knife like that, the first GEC #15s had similar issues ;)

The recent run of #66 Pony Jacks only offer a sliver of the long pull above the spine of the pen blade. Useable, but still not ideal.

I’m carrying these two around with me today.

I thank all of you for the kind thoughts and prayers! I’ve decided to feel better today, and as of 9:00am, after a long, scalding shower, it’s working. I’ll be doing a thorough disinfecting of the house in the hope my wife can stay healthy. My daughter is resilient. She even did an hour on the treadmill yesterday, so she and I are gonna get back to normal asap.
Thanks again.
Enjoying the Christmas gift from the lovely Mrs Fleschwund.View attachment 1722976Garden books and seed catalogs are good for the soul on cold winter days.
Glad you are on the mend and your daughter is so resilient. Hope you and you daughter heal completely and your wife does not get it.

Up really late this morning 0911 because of terrible terrible cramps in my leg last night, which kept me up most of the night. Get them occasionally since they took the bone out of my leg to make a new jaw bone for me. Anyway, I'm not even venturing out of the house today for fresh air but need to put myself in a better mood so, I'm giving this Schrade Tennessee River Trapper a go mostly at my desk.

Hoping everyone involved in the bad weather back East has a safe day. Gotta go. Cindy has sausage and french toast on the stove.
Hope your day improved and cramps are gone A home cooked breakfast always lifts the spirits

Sure apreciate it, Ed. And I’m very sorry you have to go through that pain. Hang in there!

Spectacular Pair, Greg. 🤠
That Northwoods is amazing.
Thanks, John. The white owl you've pocketed today is a sweet knife as well, I don't believe I've comment on it before but I should have. :)

I went with two of my hard working knives today. The wood handled Kissing Crane at 4-1/4 closed has a lot of blade on the clip main but carries nice as it is a slim single spring build...., has gator snap on opening and closing too.
The Bird dog 56 in Micarta is my beater of the GEC's I have. It's as solid and dependable as a draft horse and always eager to work.

This knife has quickly became one of my favorites to use and carry!

They are great, aren’t they? Has the wood on yours lightened significantly since you started carrying it? My Medium Rare lightened up and lost some of its warmth after a couple months carry; I left some mineral oil on it overnight which helped a lot.
