What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

It was a wonderful whittler Wednesday on the Crystal Coast. With my wife out of town for a couple of days, my daughter and I put our heads together and decided pizza and apple turnovers would make a terrific meal. Old Dad, (also know as Bruce the Butler and Cookie) is doing the honors in the kitchen, while Kristin lends moral support. OH

Three wooden beauties, Joel.

Very nice pair of knives, Paul. Slip ain't to shabby either.
Thank you Greg, I went through and old knife roll and came across two that were hardly carried. The Workhorse was a common carried knife back when it was first released but then feel into the abyss. I flitzed the blade, oiled and dropped it in my pocket. In regards to the slip, there's a lot of those on this forum courtesy of John ;) :)

A beautiful day here in the NW. Mt Rainier looking pretty peaceful. Took the DAK for a walk to the post office.

Great shot of Mt. Rainier, and beautiful example of a DAK SAK:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Nice old Case. 👍 I’m still trying to figure out how you managed to take a picture of your camera 🤣
Thanks Sacto Sacto ,,, it was waiting for the film to be developed:D:cool:

Thought this Hammer Hopalong Cassidy looked good next to a movie prop 6 shooter.

I have enjoyed this knife more than I can tell. It is simple, light and easy to carry with the pocket sheath. I made a "dao" of an old bokken for my indoor training, shortening it from both ends and used this knife to form a new tip to the sword. White oak is hard, but this knife effortlessly took thin chips off the wood. This looks rustic, but has a real quality blade.

Nice work Bart :)

Hey y'all ... here's the 411 ... it was Chuck, NOT George that chopped down the Cherry tree ... AND I have PROOF !!!
Buck Knives Chuck Buck Chairman Series Cherrywood 302 Solitaire for Wooden Wednesday

The Solitaire is a great knife Jim, wish they's do another run. One of the very few knives I've given away and regretted was a Yellow Delrin one to somebody who turned out to be an absolute :poop:😂

I've got the Cherry one but it hasn't got Chuck's signature, you realize it's changed the whole significance of American history !

Thanks, Will

Very choice carries Harry

Always like to see the car thing, they used to do that kind of thing here apparently but in the old days they didn't remove the engine and oily bits, in fact it was whole-interior and all and they let them stay in sea or lakes. Obviously it got too pollutive and they stopped it. I've seen photos of Sweden in the 1950s where they used to dump dozens of old cars at sea

Your pic also amuses me as the car 'victim' looks a lot better than many of the old crates on the road here....Finland now has the 'honour' of having the oldest cars in the EU at av.15 years...govt. says we have the cheapest new cars in the EU but they don't say that's BEFORE car tax and VAT added making them some of the dearest. And with petrol at 2€/ litre ...that I think corresponds to 8.6 USD a gallon your terms, I think the US Gallon is smaller than the Imp.one at 3.8 litres.

Thanks, Will
