I like S30V steel well enough, but the geometry of the blade on the Proper means that it isn't a great slicer. Benchmade really missed the mark by not making this a full flat grind. I can think of five or six other things that just aren't quite right on this knife. In spite of all that, I carry it reasonably regularly, because I love how it looks, and I love how rough-finished canvas micarta feels.
I can nitpick a couple of very minor things on the 97, but honestly GEC got this as close to perfect (for me, at least) as you can get in a production knife. I carry it almost all the time. (And it's a great slicer.)
