So sorry to hear that... Hope she heals quickly.my mother-in-law slipped on the ice and cracked her patella
Wow!!! What a pair!!!
I know some folks will laugh, but my wife and I discovered IMDB on our TV last summer, we are slowly watching the Columbo, Perry Mason, Hawaii Five-O, etc. reruns. Last night we started Columbo season 3, episode 1. These shows were made back in the day you could go to most any hardware store and buy a new, USA made Old Timer or Uncle Henry from the display on the counter. We love looking at and commenting on the outfits and cars in the shows. Hope your mother-in-law gets on the mend quickly. OHthere should be a good Columbo rerun on tv
Sunday knives. I’ll trust y’all to watch that game tonight for me. It’s Sunday, so there should be a good Columbo rerun on tv.
Priorities.View attachment 1741650View attachment 1741651In the meantime, my mother-in-law slipped on the ice and cracked her patella, so she’s in a brace from hip to ankle. This means she and Dad need a little help. Last weekend, my wife spent Sat evening and all day Sunday there doing laundry, cooking, etc.
Today she’s going down to deliver a giant pot of beef vegetable soup I made over the last three days. I’m going to miss that smell every time I walk into the house!
Sounds like a pretty good day.Nothing on topwater, crank baits or spoons but I finally put a 3” Aruku Shad on and bounced it along the bottom as I retrieved it back across the river. Got hit by a 14” Striper, an 11” Crappie, and a handsize Bream. You never know what they will bite - three weeks ago all they would touch was a Red/Wht DarDevle. Thanks for the luck. I had my HSB Jr. Cattle Knife in my pocket but never got snagged or had to re-tie my line. OH
Good looking shot John. Bengals all the way, although I won’t be watching as closely as last year.
Spending time with the Howards today. One's a knife, the other is my grandfather's pocket watch...

I haven't seen a cv Tribal with those handles. Did you dye them?View attachment 1741733
Seems like it’s a Tribal Lock Sunday?
I haven’t given a rodent’s posterior about the NFL since the late 80’s so I’m going the dump…
And totin’ my CV Tribal Lock!
Happy Sunday All!
Jimmy
Yep, when I received it really looked like a melted creamsickle and I couldn’t live with it. So I dunked it in RIT dark brown liquid and I rather like the old girl now.I haven't seen a cv Tribal with those handles. Did you dye them?
Thank you, Todd.Good looking shot John.
That's bound to bring some luck to the Bengals.

Yep. And what goes around...I just love the Columbo reruns they're running now. Peter Faulk was such a good actor and the plots were pretty twisted for their time.
Oh, "one more thing". I hope your mother-in-law heals quickly and without complications.
I’m glad I’m not the only one. And that’s all I’ll say.View attachment 1741733

Resins as used in knife handle/scale production are generally synthetic and thus just another form of “plastic.” Many stabilized woods and all micartas use a sythetic resin too…so even though they may have an organic base, wood or say cotton denim, they are saturated in synthetic resin (i.e., plastic). Polymers, acrylics, phenolic, Bakelite, Formica, Corelon, Kirinite, G10 are terms/brand names for a form of plastic. G10 is akin to micarta in that a fabric, in this case inorganic, is saturated in synthetic resin and treated with heat and pressure to harden.Resin I think (on my pallares anyway).
Amazing horn on that SFO, Jack.I always look forward to seeing those two JJThey are both gorgeous, and look great together. Love the French ivory, and triangular shield, on the larger Jack

Hope everyone's weekend is going wellIt's wet and miserable here, so I thought I'd cheer up my pockets, with a unique SFO sample from 2018, (photographed on a sunnier day), and an old Wheatley Brothers Jack

it turned out great.Yep, when I received it really looked like a melted creamsickle and I couldn’t live with it. So I dunked it in RIT dark brown liquid and I rather like the old girl now.
I like the factory color too - when it’s darker. Maybe I’ll find one somewhere on down the road.
