It has been cracking hasn't it Jack.
Wish I could have chipped off and taken in some views like that.
Must have been a great day.
Beautiful day here too Jack, lovely colour to that Lambsfoot.

My first day with my first custom proper. A lanny's clip by Keith Johnson. I'm mighty impressed.
I have my new Pemberton on me today--boy this thing is small! Still trying to find the sweet spot for sharpening though. The grinds weren't perfect, and I've got it sharp but not scary sharp like a little scalpel should be. It's my first GEC, and I'm mostly pleased with the fit and finish, although there are some small nits. In any case, the design is a sure winner. Is it too early to teach my 5 year old to handle a sharp knife?
Today I'm carrying a Spyderco Bob T SLIPIT and a grapetacular GEC #25 Easy Open Jack...
Thank you very much, Scruffuk!Fantastic picture sir!
Kevin kindly showed me the way to obtain a good Arkansas pocket stone, thanks
So here it is in its new backpocket sheath, test riding alongside the BF trapper. The second slot is meant for my larger knives like the GEC #53 or a Swisstool. Let's see if it works out or whether I'll have to make a Mark II.

In the front pocket is my Cocobolo Whittler.

That jigging is outstanding!
pertinux said:For a "starter" knife of his own (under supervision, still), I'd recommend an Opinel. That way, he can learn to handle and respect a sharp blade without also having to contend with snap/spring tension at the same time.
