Great looking dog 👍
Interesting picture Bart. Obviously the Eureka is fantastic, but is that an elephant? I thought you raised cattle. 🤣

Too cute! 😊👍
Thanks, Todd. It is the background on my computer. It’s a picture of an elephant that my wife took when we were in Africa years ago. Elephants are mean, I’ll stick with raising cattle 😁

Beautiful Russell Commemorative my friend . Does that one have a Serial Number on it ? The lower one in this photo was made by Schrade and is Serialized . I have never seen one with handles like yours in the wild . I prefer your covers over mine . Old photo of mine

Harry

Thanks for the kind words, Harry !!!
Mine looked similar to yours before I asked Eric Albers to replace the covers and he offered Mammoth.
Serial number on the back of the main blade tang is 03997. I think I recall there were 12K made.

That looks like it’s about the size of a standard Case 2138 Sodbuster. And it looks great, by the way. Beautiful wood.

I had specks of pocket lint on the blades in yesterday’s photo, and it bugged me. But the sun had risen further, and the glowing light had passed.

What a great companion you have. He looks concerned, attentive, and intelligent all at once.🥰

Only a little. Totally forgotten? Never. Those are stunning!
Hi
Thank you. The drawer is not big enough to store it all. 😂
Have a nice day.

Toting these two for Tuesday. :)
Striking duo there J.J. :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
I look forward to seeing each "new" knife you carry each day Gus, this one is no exception.
Why thank you kindly Jeremy😃:thumbsup::thumbsup:
It’s funny you mention “new” as I’ve hardly bought anything recently…. Stay tuned
😊:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Todd…. Wunderful pic and I don’t know 🤷‍♂️ why…. I’ve started to associate THIS IRJ as your exclusive blade
🤩:thumbsup::thumbsup:
hard job today 😓

J-P …. What a couple of pals there with you
🤩:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Today’s number is a favourite of mine, when you could actually buy a knife for a fair price, and really such a short time ago.
Shur-Wood handles were introduced in the late 50’s and adorn this hump-back jack….

A most pleasant Woodnesday to All:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Happy White Wednesday again.
Kinda weird... I get the urge to carry it on Tuesday evening, not even thinking the next day could be White Wednesday.
That thing looks beautiful, John. Glad it went to the right place.

I probably could have chosen a better word for it, Gus, but I do appreciate seeing the extreme variety of knives you have and carry each day. Today is no exception to that, very nice.

Sheep and a BFF for me today.

Beautiful, and a nice slim carry. 🤠:thumbsup:
Thank you kindly my friend… I’ve got IT (newbie) in my hands as it’s just arrived!!
You prolly know what I mean;):thumbsup::thumbsup:
Saving it for Monday.

No, no… I got the message just fine pal !!
It’s really been a dry run for newbies lately, other than yours and some more from our exchange for say a six month period.
I just thought about the meaning of “new” and how it pertains to the present. I’ve had some seriously great luck lately and hope it continues!! I thank you again !!!
Wunderful daily pairings you’re showing as well and those quotes top it all off :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I thought the terminology for "modern" traditionals was "Tradern" ...
Oh well. Not the first time I been mistooken, and likely not the last ... presuming I continue waking up alive. 😇
Nice Barlow. 😊

Thanks afishhunter afishhunter . You are correct, there currently is a SHARP debate over the accurate name for modern traditional knives. The knife community demands a name that encapsulates the oxymoron for this style of cutlery. The feuding factions are: “Modernal” or “Tradern”. My flag? Well it’s planted firmly in the Modernal camp, and it’s a hill I’m willing to die on….😐

Thanks for the reply . Eric did a fine job . Without going to look at mine , I think mine is 6000 and something and there were a lot of them made . Schrade made their own Barlow with the same exact same Delrin Handle Covers that were made with the Same Molds or Stamping Dies . Put side by side , you will see the same Dimple by Dimple and I do not mean anything negative about that . Both of them are well made knives .

Harry

Yes sir ... think the Schrade pattern was 206 ... which was a beauty in its own right :)
I do recall it said that Schrade used original Russell tooling for the tang and bolster stamps on the commemorative
That original Russell of yours is a treasure !!!
