Perhaps its splitting hairs, but there is a difference:That's what I want to say to the "patina" folks on BF. A new knife should look new.![]()
I remember a couple of decades ago they were experimenting with steel for guardrails that would form an oxidation layer of "rust" and then stop. Much like aluminum does, which is why we generally think of aluminum as non-rusting. If they're doing it with entire buildings it must be working. That's cool. Wish they had made my truck out of it. Its got a lot of "patina"LOL!I was once at an auction, where there were a lot of lots, and the female auctioneer was going through them at break-neck speed. I wasn't paying much attention, as I was only interested in a couple of lots, and she was nowhere near them. She kept using this word that I couldn't make out, and eventually I asked the guy I was with what she was saying. It was "shabby chic"!
That was only about 5 years ago!

Here, they have whole building like that!![]()

I think that Miller Brothers knife is pretty old Gus. I bought it because of its Ct. heritage. At one time Ct. was known for their quality knife and firearms manufacturing. Someone had a nice Empire knife for sale here awhile back but I missed out on it maybe next time.Mawvellous examples there Steve
Sorry to see the bite Mike… your CASE scales though… do look like a perfect match
What a wunderful pairing again there J.J.
Speaking of great duos
What a beauty there Dave… possibly a fairly early modernal
Gawgeously worn pick-bone
Very similar weather to Primble’s up here in the last 48hrs. An assortment of everything falling out of the sky. Sure wish some more of these ‘74s would join this drop….

Oh, I believe it's you! I was having a problem seeing a Grey beard on that youthful face!
Back pocket carry, taking no chances of being "under bladed"Bought this new, sold here on the forum, year or two later found on the bay and bought it back for not much more than I sold it for. Try that in today's aftermarket pricing

Just poking some fun at the screws on that sweet vintage piece, as a few of us were chatting up modern-traditional blades yesterday.I think that Miller Brothers knife is pretty old Gus. I bought it because of its Ct. heritage. At one time Ct. was known for their quality knife and firearms manufacturing. Someone had a nice Empire knife for sale here awhile back but I missed out on it maybe next time.
Thanks a lot, Gus!!!Black Jack…. at its finest there J.J.![]()
