What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Certainly not when it was released buddy, it was only ever sold to discerning civilians ;) :D The GAKs are great value, but you can't beat the full mashings! ;) :D

Whatever you call it, I’m just happy to have one. Been looking for a while, but didn’t want to have my pocket picked. 😉

Had this #86 in my pocket this morning and fished about four hours until the wind ran us off the lake. Kept fourteen; pretty good morning.

Good looking catch, sounds like you’ll be eating well.

Er, how can I be diplomatic about the Elephant Toe....;) it's a little OBESE for my tastes:D but GEC caters for all:thumbsup:

“Big boned” 🤣

A special knife for a special day. Happy Easter everyone. View attachment 1795123

I figured those would be a popular choice today. 🙂

I’ve got this Muslin Micarta #71 in my pocket. I figured the tacky new paracord I recently added was sort of (?) Easter-y. 😁

This pork butt is wrapped up and resting in a warm cooler for lunch here in a bit — pulled pork sandwiches and funeral potatoes.

I got mine in late '82 or early 1983. It came in a smart green box with the Mauser logo, and an instruction/warranty booklet. From what I recall, there was no mention of Victorinox at all, other than the tang-stamp, and there was no mention of Victorinox in the catalogue I purchased the knife from (though there was in later editions - example below from 1990). It's been a great pocket knife, and a faithful companion. It was also the first knife I was paid to write about :) I saw one for sale about 10 years ago, and couldn't believe what they can sell for now! I should have hung onto the box! ;) :D Good to see you eating well my friend :)
