Had occasion to pull out "the wedding knife" yesterday as we went to the wedding of a young man we have known for many years.
This is the one I carry to be fancy. A Boker 145th Anniversary Edition serpentine jack in 440C and African Blackwood (AKA Grenadyl). (It's roughly the size of a Case Peanut.)

Oh ya... That's the good stuff. 🤠

Thanks, John. This was just the third one I’ve done, so I’m still experimenting a bit, but there were no complaints. 🙂

I got mine in late '82 or early 1983. It came in a smart green box with the Mauser logo, and an instruction/warranty booklet. From what I recall, there was no mention of Victorinox at all, other than the tang-stamp, and there was no mention of Victorinox in the catalogue I purchased the knife from (though there was in later editions - example below from 1990). It's been a great pocket knife, and a faithful companion. It was also the first knife I was paid to write about :) I saw one for sale about 10 years ago, and couldn't believe what they can sell for now! I should have hung onto the box! ;) :D Good to see you eating well my friend :)

(Not my pic)

Some info here, though the dates are incorrect.

Interesting info, Jack. I had read that SAK Wiki page while deliberating about the one I found at the Janesville show. I got mine for a pretty good price, I think, although not quite the equivalent of £17. 😉😁

Safe travels home, Bart. 🤠
Thanks, John. The trip home was uneventful, which is always good.
What an incredible shot, wow!
Thank you. There was good scenery to work with there.

I'm glad to hear you weren't stung too much Barrett :) I think mine was around £13, and I thought of that as a bit spendy! :D
Happy Easter Porchenberg!
