That is probably one of the sharpest points on a case I have seen in a long time. That is the type of point a knife should have.

It is pointy indeed, although I think it came via overly aggressive sharpening by a former custodian.

What odds are you offering on it winning The Kentucky Derby today ?

This guy is not revealing himself very easily. A rather hard chunk of wood. More on him later, yard work first. F&F pruner, recovered in Mexican bocote, today.

I like bocote. I modded a Camillus with it and it polished up nicely.

Off to visit my parents for Mother’s Day. I believe my niece and her husband are bringing their new baby, so that will be fun.
It’s not ready for planting yet, but I’m bringing Mom a tomato plant (Fence Row Cherry ~ heirloom) from my grow rack.
Paying her back for giving me a love of gardening. She just turned 85, so having this one plant to tend will be just right, and this variety should give them maters until fall frost.p

Well, another thread on The Porch inspired me to finally go buy a Benchmade Saddle Mountain. I've admired these since they first came out, but hadn't bought one yet because I already have a couple of outdoor-oriented fixed blades (that don't see enough use anyway). The updated Saddle Mountains are completely unattractive to me, so I thought I'd missed my chance. But I noticed that my local recreational equipment retailer still has some of the old ones around, so I picked this up today. Still carrying my Peanut, too!

It is a knife that I like a lot, the lengths are:
7.8 cm Closed, 14.3 cm open and the blade with 6.5 cm.
