I was working from home all day.You must have had the day off.
How could I not carry that masterpiece... I fell in love as soon as you showed it to me.I’m glad to see it getting carried.
Minnesota Twins hat…I saw how their logo was quite similar to that of a TC Barlow so I perused the thousands of Twins hats on eBay until I found this one. I guess given climate at certain times of year in Minnesota, there are a lot of “unique “ Twins caps available.View attachment 1816154
I never thought of it until I saw your post, but the Twin City Tractor logo is really close also. Might be hard to find a Twin City hat

Mark, that Twins TC cap with the earmuffs is very nice.WOW, that is downright cool even without logo…time for a new thread…show your TC Barlow with a TC Tractor!

Thanks for the kind words. That’s awesome, GT. I bet your dad gets a good laugh out of it! Also, I’m a big fan of your knife rotation schedule. My collection isn’t quite big enough to need a schedule yet, but it is getting there. I hate neglecting my knives.
That stag muskrat is a dreamy knife!
Back on the farm when I was a kid, we sharpened almost everything (pocket knives, sickles/corn knives, lawn mower blades, blades on the sickle bar hay mower, etc.) on a bench grinder. But I don't have one now, although yesterday I saw that you can buy a lawn mower blade sharpener to attach to an electric drill that looks like it's basically a "hand-held bench grinder".Thanks, Gary. That old mower blade makes a good knife because it’s such tough carbon steel. When it’s time to sharpen my mower blades, I go over to the bench grinder. Using files takes forever.
That Sabre Barlow of mine is razor sharp. It wasn’t when I got it, but I made it submit to the oilstones.![]()
I don't think they're very boring. That rehandled electrician knife is especially stimulating!
I appreciate the comparison shot. The one I was carrying is on the 47 frame, more of a work knife compared to the 87. Here they are side by side. It’s a terrible picture, but you get the idea.

Thanks for the extra info, Mike. Thanks Gary
I can appreciate that
I lied about the AntoniniIts not walnut, its kotibe. Not sure when it transitioned to walnut in my mind
Its a useful knife. That day I needed to lift the tension on a small snail spring and the spike was the perfect tool
The Livri, being linerless, is very light. Lightweight, micarta and stainless - perfect for shorts carry in hot weatherI've been playing around with it and its quite the slicer. Slicey-er than it looks

Rachel, that knife combo is HOT!
88+9=97. It's too dang hot for May!

The veggie garden (and whatever's chewing on the eggplants) seems to like it, though:

Yikes! It's only 11 and I've been amazingly sick, so I don't know yet for today. My Buck 444 for an unplanned six hours in ER Wednesday, and my surplus SAK for the neurologist yesterday.
...
I had aphasia. Not only could I not speak, I could not think. I meant to call somebody, but I didn't know what to do with the phone in my hand. I was going to drive there to tell them I wouldn't be there, but I didn't know how to open the garage. And what were those things in my pocket over and over again? (house keys). I walked over to the church, very carefully, and tried to talk to people there. Maybe two words at a time, with a long pause, and the two words didn't make any sense or take me anywhere.
So they called an ambulance.
I'm impressed how kind and calm they were.
So anyway, it wasn't a stroke, though it had us all going for a while. All she could tell me yesterday was transitory aphasia, which means I couldn't talk for a while. I'll take it.
This is how I feel today:

Congrats on the striking Laguiole, Alan!It isn't official until it's with a shell. I'm sure the Laguiole has seen more baguettes and brie than bagels and cream cheese but this is NY.View attachment 1817199View attachment 1817201

Your Black Box whittler and Churchill are a classy couple, Steve!

Thank you, GT.Congrats on the new stockman, John!
It's an #18...What model is that?
Twin City eventually became Minneapolis-Moline if that helpsMark, that Twins TC cap with the earmuffs is very nice.
Mike, I grew up on a little dairy farm and have seen tractors from many makers, but I'd never heard of Twin City Tractors until I saw your post.
Last Monday while getting groceries, I bought a new-to-me beer when I couldn't find the brand I was looking for. Kind of a happy coincidence that this Triple Crown Brown also has a logo similar to that of the TC Barlow.
