Sunday Stockman...

You sure have a variety of attractive small knives!:thumbsup::cool:

Just chilling on this beautiful sunny Sunday morning. Have a great day everyone. 😊View attachment 1818755
Captivating copper cup and Barlow, Todd!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Do you have a Coppertone tan, too? 🤓

...
Starting my day off with a couple of knives covered in black. So nice to have comfortable outside weather here, hope all the porch folk are experiencing the same wherever you are.

Thanks, Gary. Life is good here, staying active with work and home projects helps to keep me young. I've managed to still have some time to pursue my hobbies.:)
I hope all is going well for you too and that you're enjoying some pleasant weather across the lake, neighbor.
Couple of black beauties, Greg!:cool::thumbsup: The one on the left gets my vote.
Good to hear that life is looking good for you! :)

...
The #18 generally has the thinner clip blade, while the #47 has a nice full clip blade.

That hat should protect you from alien mind probes. 🤣
Thanks for the tip on a distinguishing characteristic (that I should have noticed before ) between those 2 Case stockman models, John.:cool::thumbsup: The fact that I never noticed the different clip blades used on those 2 models indicates that I don't need any protection from alien mind probes: Probe away, ET; nothing to find in GT's mind.😁

Thanks Gary. That shot of your HHB is really cool. 😎👍
Thanks, Todd. :) Somewhere in the Guardians of the Lambsfoot thread, you can find a couple of pages where lots of folks were posting pics of lambsfoot knives with old colanders.

Top one has a filed kick:

One thing to note - these are the "PU" version with a punch. It rides lower than the spey. I'm not sure the sheepsfoot could be lowered this much with the spey. With the punch, this one could be lowered a little bit more and still be accessible.
Thanks for the comparison shots and punch vs spey discussion, Mike. Your kick adjustment really made a difference!:cool::cool:

I*XL or UN-X-LD, both are true statements, Steve - beautiful bone on both!:thumbsup::cool:

Yes it's single blade version, thanks Gary.:)👍
Thanks for the confirmation, José. :)

I think it could have been dehydration. Why I allowed it to happen so extremely would remain a mystery.
I'm through moaning about it. I was lucky enough to have an earth-shaking experience that didn't shatter anything but my complacency. I'll be grateful and move on.
That's an admirable attitude, Jer. I'm gonna try to drink more water this summer.:thumbsup::cool:

...
That looks really useful Jer  I've thought of getting one myself, (known as a 'shooting stick' here). Thanks for the pics

Jer & Jack, those "seat canes" or "shooting sticks" look like something I'd appreciate during my daily walks. If I go for a walk longer than 3 or 4 miles, I usually plan to sit down about halfway through my route for 10 or 15 minutes of whittling or crossword puzzling or fruit-eating, but there's not always a convenient bench or wall on which to sit. Carrying my own seat would remove that annoyance. 🤓

Thanks Gary :) It's good to see your Hartshead Barlow. I nearly went with one myself today, but opted for my Rosewood Big 'Un. I am carrying a Farmer however :)

Rosewood Lambsfoot and a Vic Farmer
...
We should start a Rosewood and Farmer Club, Jack! 🤓:thumbsup:

Toting this 5 bladed beast today. :)
Always good to see you going to The Dogs, JJ!🤓
Thanks Mitch!!! I just nail pull the blade closest for an easy deploy :)
Good plan! 😁

It did !!! Polish Platter with Perogis , Cabbage Wraps , Sauerkraut , and Mashed Potatos in a great atmosphere with some accordion music also .
Harry
I had Kielbasa and sauerkraut for dinner tonight

Good to see the sauerkraut love!:cool::thumbsup: I had some leftover vegetable/turkey casserole last night to which I added some sauerkraut before reheating.
Big-league bonestag on your Case Barlow, Mike!:cool::cool:

Today was my daughter Scout’s 2nd birthday, which means I was carrying the Nifebrite #15 that I had with me the day she was born.
...
Now for the annual birthday-knife photo recap.
...
Barrett, I always enjoy your birthday posts for your kids!:thumbsup::cool:

I wouldn’t get started 🤣

Thanks, Gary. It’s my first Rough Ryder and I like it. I really like how the bonestag scales look. The blade is just carbon steel.

Thanks, Todd. Yeah, it definitely needs a patina. The first thing I cut with it was my finger 😁. I had it all oiled up trying to get the action a little better. It slipped out of my hand and I instinctively tried to catch it. It was very sharp out of the box. Today I cut some strawberries, hopefully that will get the patina going.
Rough Ryder barlow again today.

Thanks for the additional info about your RR Barlow, Bart.:thumbsup::cool:
I hadn't noticed, until your photos, that RR has neither shield nor bolster stamp on that model; I prefer that to the "blingy" treatment RR Barlows usually get.

Splendid stag, Will! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
I like the whale on the salt container, too, especially the word "FIN" (which I'm guessing is a description of the "grit" of the salt) right above a close-up of the whale's tail fins. 🤓 I don't recall seeing that brand of sea salt before, but when I looked it up online, I found that it's VERY widely-available in the US.

I don't know how heavy, or comfortable they are Gary (Jer will know). I bought a lightweight seat, but it is still something extra to carry, it is very low, and they tend to sink into the mud (I have never actually used it). I also note that Fjallraven produce a rucsac that you can sit on, though I'm sure it is expensive

This is a nice summery knife:

Beautiful day, too.
Talking with a couple of others dads while picking up our kids at the day program, the consensus was that we would accept 364 days just like it. (It can snow on Christmas)
Is there a chance it wasn’t white when it got dropped? I’m looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

No, I’m pretty sure it’s an Ulster like this.

Good morning fellow porch dwellers. Same carry as yesterday: 36, 49, Copperlock - it seems to be able to handle anything and everything.

36 for basically any “real” cutting*; this is a tank of a knife. 49 for small tasks and opening packages at work (and very non-threatening in front of people). Lastly the Copperlock [edit] for food cutting and/or any piercing/slicey task.

Note: I have more India themed paraphernalia and photos that you can shake a stick at so I can keep this up indefinitely 😅

*The 36 made quick work of a bunch of large boxes for recycling last night. This thing is a workhorse, and the jigging gives it great grip.
