What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks a lot JJ, I'm afraid I can only ASPIRE to a shooting stick currently, I suspect they're something the servants carry! 😄 :)
They have been very popular among the "Royal" hunting groups. ;) 😁
Those two pair very nicely together my friend, two very handsome knives :)
Thanks a lot, Jack!!! :)
Celebrating 3,000 pages and 60,000 posts in the Guardians thread today, with this humble, but well-made, Rosewood Lambsfoot SFO, which I haven't carried in a while :) Pairing it with my #66 Jack

Congratulations Jack! Your 66 makes a astonishingly great partner to your robust Rosewood SFO Lambsfoot; cool combo! :D:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Going to town in a bit. Pancakes and eggs, with sausage links at the Wagon Wheel Cafe. Then on to the Holiday Market for groceries and then cash from the ATM at the bank on the way home. It's gonna be a slow trip as I fell last night between the dresser drawers, the bed, and a chair. It was kinda like ricochet bingo on the way down. Sore this morning so slow and easy does it for the day. What knife to carry in this condition? Why the Ebony Scout Hunter gifted to me some time back by John @JohnDF of course.

Scary stuff Ed, glad you’re okay. 😊👍
Hope they do the trick Todd :)

Just a couple of more weeks, my friend... hang in there.
Those two will brighten any morning, both have terrific bone on them.
No worries gents, things are good. What really was deflated was Mrs. Bigfish’s front tire. Got the compressor out, and then it was off to the tire shop. 😎👍

Happy Birthday to Scout Barrett :) Sounds like a great day my friend, cool pics :)

Happy Birthday Scout! Too cute Barrett, glad you guys had a great day. 😎👍

Barrett, I always enjoy your birthday posts for your kids!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks guys!

Has it been two years already?
Sounds like you both had a good day. 🤠

Yep, time flies! 🙂

She’s a doll, Barrett. I can’t remember what was in my pocket when my three were born, but it had to have been either my Schrade 33OT, or 293Y, because that’s all I had!

Thanks, Jeff. I don’t think it would have been something I would have noticed or remembered if I hadn’t already been active here on the Porch when Eleanor was born. But since I was already posting what I was carrying in this thread on a regular basis, I did notice, and posted about it, and it just sort of became a thing.

Action shot!
Ok, not really. I couldn't figure out how to hold the knife, the string, and the camera phone. I imagine there's a tripod phone holder thingy available (if there's not, there should be).
So, it's a stop action action shot with only one shot 🤪

It takes a special sort of skill. 😉

(Ok really it just takes a ladder and a lack of concern about what your neighbors might think you’re doing if they looked out the window.)

Because everyone loves a "Hotdog" shield ;)

Great pair, Paul! I still contend that the “hotdog” shield wouldn’t get as much hate as it does if they hadn’t called it the hotdog shield, and instead called it the “rounded bar” shield or something like that. I often wonder if some of the people who hate it so much think it’s actually meant to depict a hotdog, like some of GEC’s other “realistic” shields (gator, beaver, guitar, etc.).

What year is that #99? I’ve been a bit disappointed that the only run of those they’ve done since I started collecting GECs had a wharncliffe. I do have a spearpoint F&F #99 that I picked up secondhand; I’d love for them to do those again!

Jer & Jack, those "seat canes" or "shooting sticks" look like something I'd appreciate during my daily walks. If I go for a walk longer than 3 or 4 miles, I usually plan to sit down about halfway through my route for 10 or 15 minutes of whittling or crossword puzzling or fruit-eating, but there's not always a convenient bench or wall on which to sit. Carrying my own seat would remove that annoyance. 🤓

Personally, I think after 10 or 15 minutes of sitting on one of those sticks, I’d be ready to start walking again. 🤣

I also note that Fjallraven produce a rucsac that you can sit on, though I'm sure it is expensive

Isn’t everything they make expensive? 🙄😉

Thanks Barrett and I agree on the "Hot Dog" shield. I don't dislike it one bit. It is simplistic but to me suits the Tidoute, more plain knives just fine. The #99 was released in 2014 and wish they'd re-issue it again as well:thumbsup:

Great working pair Pete
Toting a trapper and a toothpick today. :)
Superb JJ, it's great to see that stunning pair again :) Hope you had a Blingtastic day! 😄 ;)

Yes, it's hard to find sedan chair carriers these days! 🤣 Thank you very much for the kind words my friend :)

Yeah, reckon so mate :D I reckon I'd find myself sitting six inches above the ground! o_O🤣

And overpriced!

Have a nice day everyone :) Carrying my 'other' Hartshead Barlow today

Chestnut jigged bone CV Case Knife of the Week is a Peanut:
chestnut.mark.closed.jpg

Stockman of the Week is a 3 1/8" Rough Ryder midnight swirl acrylic gentleman's sowbelly (thanks, Todd). Used it Monday to open boxes from Tractor Supply containing lawn mower blade and mower air filter, and a box from Amazon containing a pedometer (and a new inexpensive knife with anchor shield and sheepsfoot blade that I ordered to get free shipping). Really handy little knife that's often in my pocket even when it's "turn" to be carried is over.
