What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

It is supposed to be at half staff until noon, and then “raised smartly” to full staff. But this pole doesn’t allow for that.View attachment 1831844
If you, my friends will induldge me, I will again show a couple of photos of my late son, Jason. Unlike some of his best friends, he made it home after his tour. Sadly, the TBI ~ traumatic brain injury that came from a close-call explosion took his life in 2017.View attachment 1831846This is my favorite picture. A happy moment with the beautiful kids of Argendab. The only thing he specifically requested in our care packages was pens and note pads for these kids. Of course, Mom’s cookies, but they had to have been pretty stale by the time they got there.View attachment 1831845My knives today~ two WWII vets. Camillus and Pal~View attachment 1831850
I am sorry to read about your son. He looks like a really warm hearted guy in those photos.

Dad's Beagle today. Have a great weekend everyone.

Love that little guy!

Great pairing! 👍

I have a big boy with me today. It just makes me happy to have this knife in my pocket, even if it is overkill. Happy Friday to the porch!

Great example of that bad boy!👍

Nice! Our pup’s name is Maggie, too.

My Maggie sends her best! :)

Carried a Case 6318 and GEC 74 stallion to work the past 3 days. Just swapped out the 74 for a rosewood handled Schatt & Morgan Heritage spear for evening relaxation time on the home patio. Beautiful weather and temp here this TGIF evening, hope all the porch people are enjoying the same wherever you are. 🌞

Love the covers on that 74! 👍

Beautiful knife Jim, looks like you were in a pretty cool place as well. 😎👍

Thanks, Todd! I was standing at the end of our backyard for that photo -- we back on to a 15-acre nature preserve. :)

Miscellaneous Knife of the Week is another Imperial, a "mother-of-toilet-seat" equal-end jack:

At least it’s a nice looking toilet seat!! 😆

Good morning porch’ians!

The 86 carry’s into to today from last night and it’s joined by the RR Barlow That made quick work of the kiddo’s toast - I love the nice long/deep swedge paired with the spear for cutting&spreading duties.

Made in the USA! (like all my slipjoints, no screws either)

After 7 years use, ignitor in my pellet smoker shorted :( Like to position the excess fat cap on the rack above the meat. As the fat renders it drips on to the butt below, helping keep it moist. "Autobaste" TM :)
