All these years and I still don't have a bell in my pocket anyone in the world can ring LOL

Been looking at a simple flip phone though, just to make the random call but the thing is, I honestly don't even use my home phone but maybe once or twice a month !!!
Still I've been thinking a phone might be handy when on a road trip ... which doesn't happen often either
So anyway, Consumer Cellular has a flip phone for less than $60 and a No-Data Plan for $15 a month with unlimited calls and text and that's what I'm leaning toward

The idea of a Wi-Fi feature as I understand it, is mostly for folks who use the Internet or have apps on the phone that MAY independently or intentionally access the internet (data)
... with Wi-Fi connection, the accessed data isn't "charged" to whatever data plan one might have with the cell carrier. It's "free" over Wi-Fi and data is unlimited. Which I think is a good thing to have ... if you have a data plan

If not using "data", don't need internet access on the phone ... there MAY be a setting somewhere in the phone menu whereby "Data" can be disabled ... which may even be necessary on some phones even when set to Wi-Fi

That’s a short looking set up right there! Black and gold does it for me. And I sure do like a picture of a good knife on a sharp looking wallet.

I used to say the very same thing Ed. I got a plan later on that had texting included. The younger generation, like my son and daughter in law, rarely call on the phone, but, they text me often. That made it worth learning and using for me. My now young grandson will likely be a texter as well. ;)☺️

My kids are horrified if you tell them that you can actually call People on their phone. Can't even go see the friends without texting first😯 I just go wirh it these days. What makes me smile, they get annoyed with me for not replying quick enough, I will be typing a response to the first & they have already sent 2 or 3 more😯 slow & steady for me😃
