What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

For the hospital:

Just audiology. I'm a borderline case for hearing aids. If I get them, they'll be awsome, but I'll have to wear them all the time to acclimatize my brain. I think I'll wait. The hi-freq hearing loss is an excuse for not remembering names, anyway.
This for now.

This knife is special. I’ve had it about 20 years. The longest of any of my knives. But what really makes it special is I was carrying it the day of losing everything in a house fire. Today I figured I’d pack it around.
That had to have been painful!

My wife and I (and our dog) have been traveling since last Thursday, so I'm woefully behind on Porch-related goings-on. She's currently at the first day of a three-day quilt show in St. Cloud, MN, so I have at least a little time to post a couple of the knives I have with me. But I probably won't do too much catching up, since there are some trails along the Mississippi River here in St. Cloud that I'd like to explore while she's at her quilting stuff each day.

Canoe of the Week is a Case burnt amber model I got myself as a 70th birthday gift last December:

You are very welcome Primble Primble . Know that it will be well cared for . That was one of Jack Black Jack Black 's Midnight Specials . It did not look very nice until you showed it in light and then changes . I gifted 2 others that had more flash to my son , but I would not let him have this one . Carry it in good health my friend .
P.S. : Don't break a fingernail LOL .

Harry

It was. I lived in an apartment above a small business. I worked at the business for 15 years or so. I lost everything except what was on my back and in my car. And the dogs and cat. I didn’t have renters insurance and that wasn’t as bad as losing many knives, stones, tools that I’d had since I was a kid. It’s been 7 years now I think. Now I’m building memories with new to me knives and still enjoying the old timer.

I love seeing the Waynorth getting put to use, John.
Thank you, Bart. :)
It is the prettiest Lambsfoot I own.
Beautiful choice today, John.
Thank you, Jeremy. :)
Another Great Pair, Jeremy... Nice to see Skoll again. 🤠
Have a great day with your Charlie Lamb John
Thank you, Jack. :)
I almost thought your HHB had been hanging out with Lucy, but then realized that was probably jam or some other sweet sauce. 🤣

Everything checked out at the Doc's Office yesterday - no lesions, cysts, or growths, etc. and I was able to manage BBQ Riblets at Applebee"s - scrape the meat off with my top, front, teeth and chew/gum it with my rear, top, teeth and lower rear gum. Tedious but worth it. Anyway, it's off to the Post Office and the Wagon Wheel Restaurant this morning with a short stop at the Holiday Market. I'll be carrying this Micarta Bayou Trapper. It's developing a nice even patina and is a pretty useful knife. The only negative thing about it from my point of view, is that I'd rather have it's closed length at 3 3/4" - 3 7/8" and just a tad wider the length of the frame by 1/16" .

In your photos, my eyes always tell me on first glance that the knives are new - GEC or Case Bose, but then I adjust and see that they are the real deal, old, brilliant pieces.

Now…if I only had a coffee table book of “Primble’s Ultimate Book Of Knifes: Photos that make you slobber”. I think it would be quite popular. If such a book exists, let me know!

Today's quote would be funnier if it weren't true. My EDB with Skoll today.

But what if the second half of this year is twice as good as the best whole of the previous full year???

Lol... He who comes up with the longest alliteration wins... 🤣

Very tempting!!!
