I have to admit I wonder about those as-seen-on-tv ones for thousands less. I have to see what my insurance will pay before it changes.I need hearing aids too, but too expensive and health insurance won't cover. And I hate things sticking in my ear. Lots of annoying stuff I don't hear, though. Kinda nice, in a way.

Have y'all considered a genuine no batteries needed non-electric just like great great gramps (or granny) had brass ear trumpet?I have to admit I wonder about those as-seen-on-tv ones for thousands less. I have to see what my insurance will pay before it changes.
Cattaraugus Sleeveboard Whittler and Schrade Cut Co. Barlow for this Thursday.

Both are still pretty sassy on the action.
I wear hearing aids. They're insanely expensive, but they changed my life and I'm glad I spent the money on them. I'm still a habitual 'huh?' and 'what?' guy, I forget everyone's name, and still have what my wife calls 'selective hearing'. All you have to do is tell them your hearing aids aren't working right..... Big rooms and crowds are still hard to hear in, but being able to hear the birds chirp and all of the tiny sounds I had forgotten about was/is pretty amazing. For the hospital:

Just audiology. I'm a borderline case for hearing aids. If I get them, they'll be awsome, but I'll have to wear them all the time to acclimatize my brain. I think I'll wait. The hi-freq hearing loss is an excuse for not remembering names, anyway.
This for now.

I don't think I'm alone in saying that I would most definitely buy the illustrated traditional knife book which containedThank you for liking my old knives and for the fine compliment !
I doubt you will ever see a Primble book of anything ....................... I am too busy trying to find my next good ole knife and Elijah wouldn't stand for the lack of attention !
I would like to see a Waynorth book about old knives. I would have to get a copy of that. My collection is small compared to his.
Thank you Mr. Jack. You know, the ole Merlester is growing on me quite a bit. It has a unique look about it .............. and handsome red bone. Try to remember to get some closeups of the pile side script, for all to see.
As for the Hartshead ...................... it is spoiled beyond anyone else's help .............. getting to taste all of that fine English cuisine ! Wouldn't be satisfied in anyone else's pocket !
Quite a fine patina on that Micarta knife. Nice picture of both !![]()
My brother in law used to tell me he was going to buy me one of these before I got hearing aids. I always pictured them like this....Have y'all considered a genuine no batteries needed non-electric just like great great gramps (or granny) had brass ear trumpet?
I saw some on Amazon for under $30.
I mite get one for the ghul next door on her next birthday. She claims she can't hear... and for the guy on the tuther side a her for Christmas. (His birthday was the 05/14)View attachment 1846439
I had those exact thoughts about the Texas Jack. The pen blade is the right size to the proportions but the main blade is just a bit small.I wear hearing aids. They're insanely expensive, but they changed my life and I'm glad I spent the money on them. Don't fall for the 'as seen on TV' junk unless you enjoy hearing the sound of plastic crinkling or paper rustling, magnified by 10,000. They just make EVERYTHING loud.

Primble 's photography!

View attachment 1846475Been toting this Texas Jack lately. Love the size, but I wish that Case made the blades a little bit wider. Almost seems dainty to me.
