What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Beauty of a morning here, as well.
What’s your early opinion of that big ‘ol stockman?

Here we are...View attachment 1848463

I wish! Because I love bluegrass.

Small band, which last night was only a duo, playing worship music in a barn to a not huge, but very enthusiastic group of people.
Small Mesa Boogie set clean with a good Telecaster through a small pedalboard, mmm mmm good.😚

Playing worship music can be real rewarding. Playing for His glory not mine, and free of the drama and drunks of playing in bar bands. And that my partner always leaves room for me to let it rip helps, too!
Glad your morning is pleasant as well.
It is a beast of a stockman. Almost too much for pocket carry. This one did not come with sheath but there are several options to solve that minor problem. Some tasks it might be too much knife. So far it is great
Looks like you had a great time last night Jeff.

Is that a cider mug?
Unsure of what a "cider mug" I turned to the ultimate search engine. Looks like "cider mug" is a brand. If not please let me know.
This mug is handcrafted, glazed, ceramic that was purchased at a local arts & craft fair last year by my wife. Saves trips to the coffee maker

You can of course use them for other drinks if you like.

POTTERY CIDER MUG

HALF PINT

The Story of why is there a FROG in my Cider Mug?

It has many names frog mug, toad mug or surprise mug and is essentially a Pottery vessel mainly used for drinking Cider or similar alcoholic beverages. They were first produced in Sunderland before being copied in such places as Staffordshire, Worcestershire and Newcastle. These mugs were part of the tradition of drinking games such as fuddling cups and puzzle jugs. In this case the drinking vessels featured one or more painted or three-dimensional ceramic frogs or toads that slowly emerged at the bottom of the vessel it was drained.

These practical joke mugs containing frogs or toads date from circa 1775 and continued to be popular until the end of the 19th century. An unsuspecting drinker would be surprised as he quaffed his Cider to see a frog or toad emerging from the typically cloudy beverage of those days as it was fully consumed and the amphibian came into view, with predictable results. In some cases, the creature would gurgle and spit at the drinker through a hole in its mouth as the vessel was tilted and the dregs consumed. Some larger examples had two or three handles and might contain several frogs/toads.

Thanks for the information. Interesting idea on the frogs. Not sure what this one was specifically designed for. I asked for a large ceramic mug that would work for coffee. My 4 cup percolator is a few ounces short on capacity to fill it, but saves my trips.

I see many people posting knives with some sort of food. Now, y’all ain’t dulling your knives by scraping them across a porcelain plate are you? Do you just very carefully cut just short of the plate?

Thank you kindly JJ :) That's a fabulous pairing my friend, and the big rope blade is just awesome! Great jigging too :)
Thank you for your kind words, Jack!!! :)
Have a great Sunday everyone, especially all the dads :)
