• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

2-Blade Knife of the Week (2 tools rather than 2 blades, I suppose) is a Rough Rider marlinspike pictured on a manhole cover at the Beaver Islands trailhead in St. Cloud MN:

Fantastic foursome of Sunday slicers, Gary; after your original posting of the Vic paring knife, I ordered one and love it!:D:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Interesting.
Is it for prevention or do plan on catching s couple?
Thanks for sharing.

I just like to make the bottom of a walking stick forked in case I happen to stumble across a snake. Too many rattlesnakes and copperheads around this time of year. I have no interest in getting close, just want something to keep them away from me if needed.

That's fair enough.
Plenty of snakes here in Australia to be wary of.

I see many people posting knives with some sort of food. Now, y’all ain’t dulling your knives by scraping them across a porcelain plate are you? Do you just very carefully cut just short of the plate?
I cut at an angle that matches my edge angle, but still try to stop short of the plate.
I always wonder when I see a knife posed on rock where it looks like the actual edge is touching the rock, but hopefully it’s just an optical illusion.
That said, I know of few things that dull a knife faster than cardboard. It’s very abrasive.
Trail knife today! Love this one.

“Just a second, honey. I need to take a picture of my knife.”
After a while, they quit asking what you’re doing because they know.
