Have a nice day

As I am going to Spain and France (Basque regions) then travelling up through France on a motorbike road trip.

I decided to polish my knife and start the patina again treating it to a continental twist. 😁

I give all my road trips a name or codeword.
Its not always clever or funny.

When I went to Corsica and Sardinia it was-The Islands.
A military air show it was-Achtung Spitfire
New Zealand-Down Under (so flipping obvious I deserve mocking 😁 )

etc,etc. you get the idea.

This one is in honour of

waynorth and is called Waynorth

It was he who sent me this wonderful knife and though I am going south initially.
It is so I can then go Waynorth to Caen and the D day beaches of Northern France and then on to Blighty.

Thanks for sharing. Pretty cool.

I'm happy to see you carry that Glenn Creation again, one of my favorites. 🤠

I think the stag is way more beautiful... Nice work. 🤠

Looks like you did a fine job ! 😊 Back from the dead !
Thank you, mis amigos!

When the garlic forms scapes, I harvest the scapes so the plant puts all it’s energy into bigger bulbs. Chopping some up for breakfast!ADB11096-607D-4E2C-8D29-301699F3B1EF.jpeg

Out and about with my 82 today I will be taking the 77 with me tommorow.
First for a cracking haircut ready for my road trip so nice and short.
Then the best flat white in town very close to a cafe con leche which is my favourite.

Back home for a final packing check, its not easy when it takes you 30mins just to choose a book.
Narrowed it down to these 2 I couldn't decide so went by weight that 50 grams with make a huge difference 😆
So easy company it is coming with me,fitting as I am going to the D day beaches.

Bike has had the oil changed and the brakes stripped and cleaned and a general check over.
I had to do it myself,no one else I trust too do it know my mechanics moved on.

Final knife choice as well, only taking 5 😂

Orange 71 Sodbuster

Very nice! Both hawkbill and harvest.
I’m a long ways away from getting any squash.
Thanks Jeff. We are squash poor at the moment!
I opened my knife drawer, looked in the cigar box that contains my frankenstein modded knives, and chose these. A Case XX Sodbuster that had the exact same black scales as the one @JohnDF posted this morning. Except one side had cracked through, and swung freely on one of the pins. Which is why I bought it. I didn’t want to go to the trouble of taking it apart and re-handling it with elk antlers if it was not broken. I really wanted a full size Sodbuster, and being broken, I’d lucked into one I could afford. It’s an old(er) one, too.
The TL-29 came with a utilty/screwdriver blade that had been re-shaped, sort of, into a clip blade on a bench grinder, so it was a good candidate to turn into a Mexican Bocote handled singled blade jackknife.

Please have a super Saturday!
Beautiful rehafting. I love the soddie.

Beautiful pair of old Schrades, Rob. That Farmer’s jack is quite the holy grail!
Thanks Jeff. We are squash poor at the moment!

And thank you, Dwight!
When the squash vines get big, watch out for the squash beetles. Last year they were unbelievable. My squash are in a new bed this year, but I’m sure the beetles will follow.

Im carrying this medium stockman today. I don’t use it much because it doesn’t quite suit me on a couple things. First, the main blade is of center too much. Second the sheepsfoot had a boogered tip and I reproduced it but it still don’t suit. I’m thinking on sending it back though it’s marginal. And I’m still carrying the tinker!

Could you explain what you mean by "of centre too much" Is it rubbing the liner impeding opening? Stockman knives, unless each blade runs off its own spring like with Buck models, are inevitably krinked ('bent' to shape) to get in the well of the knife , run from 2 springs and should avoid blade-rub. Hence an off centre appearance. How did the Sheepfoot tip get damaged? Pretty straightforward fix to repoint it by sharpening. Those CASE Medium Stockman are a very good and well worth the money knife in general.

Like that carving you show

Thanks, Will
